Virtual Assistants? Where is the best place to get one?

I have just realized that I am working way to much on small tasks that are taking up way to much time. In fact they are holding me back because I get burnt out doing them that I put off a lot of other things that would benefit me way more.

Does anyone have suggestions on where the best place to hire a VA is? I have looked at getfriday.com and that is about it so far. I plan on researching it but I wanted to get some feedback from anyone here who has been through it before.

It is friday night and I am working! That is about to be solved with hiring a VA.

I have not used a virtual assistant, but I have seen the services offered on the digital point forums:

and on Odesk:

I like the concept of Odesk as somebody looking to hire somebody else (it's almost like employment in some respects) - but it can be a bit intrusive for service providers used to limited-oversight freelancing. However, you might be able to find some help there.

Hey Adam,

I found that hiring ONE virtual assistant wasn't good enough because they procrastinated and didn't do tasks as quickly as I'd like so instead I suggest you get many.

For instance I have one guy who spends one hour a day filtering my email. He gets paid $8/hr (Which is a great pay rate in India). So for $56 a week I become much more productive.

I also have assistants for traffic generation systems.... marketing... customer support and so on.

The best and CHEAPEST place is scriptlance.com

Hey Adam,

If you get a chance, run in a book store and grab a copy of the 4 hour work week...

I reccomend that you buy it. Great book, a must read imo for every marketer...

none the less turn to page 135 where you will find a nice list of VA's sorted geographically ranging from $4-20$ per hour...

The author states that to this day his best VA is a guy from India whom he pays $4 per hour. If you get a chance read the section on VA's your mind will be blown wide open...

I totally forgot about that. I bought the book a few weeks ago and read it in one sitting. Then I let my sister borrow it and it totally slipped my mind.

I've been out all night so I'm going to make this post short and concise.

I put out a post on Elance for a VA and got a magnificent firm in Memphis, TN that provided me a great va that handles a lot of my business. I'm going to be giving her more to handle over the next couple weeks.

Pay her .... $9 / hour...billed in MINUTE increments - not like 10 minute increments others wanted to charge me.

Worth every damn penny for all the time and stress it saves me....
