Domain Ranking Question

I have 2 keywords that I want to go after, but the subject of those keywords are not related.

Hypothetical example:

bigbluecars
bigbluecomputers
bigbluesneakers
bigbluepillows

I have had some good success ranking with exact domain names. I have also had poor success using exact domain names, so I am not sure how much they help.

Question: should I buy individual domains, or should I just start one website called bigbluestuff and have individual pages.

Which will be easier to rank - individual pages or exact domain names?

I could save a lot of money with just 1 domain (obviously), and my question is, will the domain name eventually have ranking power in itself (i.e. Amazon, Yahoo, Target, etc)? Seems like all the backlinking on individual websites would be a lot of duplicate work.

to start off, it's better to try and target just one keyword, so having a different site for each keyword is good. After you have one site with one keyword, you could try a general site for all of your keywords.
