Platinum member at EZA after 113 articles

I thought I would never get that Platinum membership level,
but today , after 113 high quality articles submitted, they
finally gave me Platinum level.

" You have now earned our "PLATINUM" membership level. This is a status
that can not be bought and can only be earned by sending in quality
articles. Only a small fraction of our thousands of authors ever obtain this
level."

    Nice!

I was down to my last 3 submissions a few days ago so I sent them an email and asked not to be reviewed, just to give me more slots so I don't run out. They sent me 25 more. =

I've had some articles kicked back for what turned out to be non-issues (they were then approved with no changes) -- I always wonder if those count toward the "this guy takes up our time - don't platinumize him" data.

Yes. If your articles get kicked back for any reason, the counter towards Platinum is restarted. This is true even when they make a mistake in their review.

I had a few articles rejected for "domain in title" because my domain matched the keyword phrase I was writing for (i.e. "How to Learn Snowboarding Without Breaking a Leg" --> howtolearnsnowboarding.com). Each of these rejections caused my upgrade to be delayed -- even though the next level editor approved the articles after I appealed the rejection in each case.

      Enjoy your mug, Almnic!

Great job on your platinum article status. I currently have a love hate relationship with EZA. LOL

I have tried to get my platinum status on a few occasions and failed. I'm going to keep trying!

Congratulations! I'm also a Platinum member, and -- for over 20 years -- I've been a regularly published writer in books and magazines. 99% of my articles are published by EZA without delay or revisions.

Because I write for print media, it's important that EZA maintains some standards. I can't afford to be part of a "bad neighborhood" in terms of writing quality. So, I appreciate their screening, even when it's not perfect.

Mostly, I know how satisfying it is to achieve a goal anywhere in life. Becoming a Platinum member at EZA is a good one. Congratulations, and I wish you even greater successes in 2010!

If this happens you should email them and ask them to review their determination. I've seen people get this reversed, and upgraded to Platinum, if it was a simple mistake.

    Congratulations.

On the other hand, this seems sort of like battered women's syndrom. EZA keeps beating on you, and then stops and says "i love you", and you say you love them back.

Good job! I got Platinum status on one of my accounts a year ago. It took 25 well written 750 word articles on gardening, but it worked. I know the articles were very well written, but it was also a topic that was not main stream for affiliate marketing and I also had a website that was on gardening so they perceived that I was an expert. Either way, it was a lot of work so I feel your pain and happiness at the same time.

Congratulations on receiving this, you'll see that the acceptance time for your articles will be greatly reduced.

I still wonder how I could get platinum level at only 10 articles, if you keep in mind that I wrote those articles myself and that I'm not native english, so I was sure the quality wouldn't be always that great. Turns out I only had a few minor things in one of two articles (or maybe I was just lucky and got easy-going reviewers )

Are you sure you received PLATINUM status after 10 articles, and not EXPERT AUTHOR status?

I also got my platinum after 10 articles, and English is also not my first language. The yellow star beside my name indicates platinum, doesn't it?

You get expert status after one article is approved. It isn't anything special.

It takes 10 articles being submitted before they review your account for an upgrade (possibly to platinum).

Great job, Almin! Now you can look down on all the "little" people from up in the rarified air of Platinum status. LOL OK, not really, but it does have its perks. Mainly, you get your articles approved faster. Sometimes a lot faster. That's always nice.

      This is true.

I personally got platinum status after 60 articles because I didn't know any better in 2005/6 when I started writing.

But my students are getting platinum status after 10 articles because they are submitting high quality stuff and paying close attention to the guidelines.

You can post your articles on Ezine without being Platinum. Comparing your writing to ezine articles is laughable.

Put your articles against real writers, published authors and then see where you stand before you call us liars and blow your own trumpet.

No fair looking it up; just name one off the top of your head.

Congrats! I do think that those of us whom are new to EZA have an advantage of knowing what we're getting into. Submit 10 good articles your first day and they typically will give you platinum status immediately. If you miss out on that first 10, it seems to take a while and you are at the moderators mercy.....which is usually quite interesting with EZA.

Don't disagree at all, you're absolutely correct. However, I'm not the one trying be a writer or an authority and comparing my articles to others on Ezine.

      My points were very clear,

After 10 articles I was given Platinum status on Ezine. Name, title, status? Big deal. Faster approved articles, yes please.

Comparing your writing ability to the articles found in article directories, laughable. Very laughable.

You're taking things out of context -- maybe on purpose? The thread is/was about getting Platinum status and the remark was made that maybe someone didn't get it because the articles weren't good enough. In that case, comparing writing to that which is already on EZA is completely reasonable -- because that's the bar in that case.

But again, what is it that makes a person a writer?
