My first squeeze page - need help to decide, and what to do now?

Dear warriors,
as I am still a fresh newbie to this business I have decided to leave the make money online niche and move to health issues, exactly yeast infections and similar problems.
I made a blog a few months ago, promoting an e-book,but made just one sale and no list, so I will try to advertise it better and create a mailing list.

I made two squeeze pages, but I can't decide which one to use, so I would like to hear your suggestions.

Here they are:

PAGE 1

PAGE 2

When they sign up, they will be sent to a download page to download the book.

My second question is about the follow up e-mails. I will schedule one email to go the second day after they downloaded the book saying thank you, a little bit about who I am and that I am glad they downloaded the book, a link to my blog, etc..
But what next?
What kind of e-mails should I set up to follow, for how many days, I really don't have e-mails for the next 12 months in mind.. and when to start selling something so that they don't run away?

And finally.. if there are warriors who promote health related products.. any suggestions where to promote the squeeze page to get some decent traffic?
I do have a few articles, but still haven't submitted them.

Thank you for any kind of help you can provide

Honestly, the spit test thing grossed me out, and made me want to hit the back button immediately.

Yeah the spit-test thing is gross. Don't know if it would appeal to someone who suspected that they had a yeast infection.

        why not?
it is supposed to look ugly, yeast infection is ugly.. it is a quick way to find out if you are infected and if you are you would probably want to get the book.

        or am I wrong?

Yes, like I said I don't know if it would be useful to someone who suspected they may have a yeast infection, but going by what you're saying, I guess it would be useful!

I also like the 2nd one better, easier to sign up and 2 chances to sign up. However I'm sure most marketers will tell you to do a split test, that's the only way to know for sure.

No idea, I am not in that market

But just taking a look, number 2 is a lot easier to sign up for, and as soon as you get on the page it's obvious what you need to do.

I don't like page 1 as much, if you want you could split test them, or split test with and without the video.

maybe the video would gross some ppl out, but for ppl with genuine concerns (ppl who think they may have yeast infection), the video might help them confirm things.

    just my opinion.

    Hi,

I don't know if your approach as far as giving them all of the information they need in a free ebook leaves you much of an opportunity to monetize your signups. Meaning, you've basically given them a free solution, so why would they need to buy a clickbank product where you could make a commission?

Instead of a free ebook...instead of giving them the entire answer to their problem...you could break up your content into a minicourse over 3, 5 or 7 days, with a new email coming at them every day. Once they sign up, you can immediately redirect them to a clickbank offer having to do with solving yeast infections...I think you'll make more sales doing it that way. Then, in your autoresponder series, educate but also throw in a mention to your clickbank product and at the end of each email, have a link to it.

As far as much communicating beyond the minicourse with your list...my guess is you'll have to develop a relationship beyond the topic of yeast infections, because this is a market that probably doesn't want to continue hearing more and more about the problem once it is solved. In other words, you'd have to move on with them and educate on related subjects, etc...So you'll have to think outside the box and do some profile marketing...or just leave it alone and let the minicourse run and focus your efforts somewhere else.

    Thanks for asking the question!

arti gal thanks, that's a good idea with the minicourse , but the book itself is not sold as a clickbank product, and I thought of giving it completely away for free to build some trust at the beginning.

It is probably not the complete solution for most people and maybe some of them will be interested in buying more related stuff.

Maybe I could break the book in three parts and deliver them separately ?

later on I will offer them some products related to different health aspects, weight loss, diet, healthy food, headaches, stop smoking... etc.
      I don't have a plan yet..

        Hi lonicera,

        Great first go, awesome!

What you might want to try is using is google optimiser if you want to become an awesome marketer start by doing the thing the things that the awesome marketers are doing now (split testing).

on page No.2 I would put another opt in up higher.

You may need to sell it a bit more, but I would definitely charge something for this if you think it is good, because if you want to build a list then you want to build a list of quality and if someone pays you $7 (that's minimum I suggest you make it if you think it solves a problem) then 1) you get a qualified buyer (they will be 8 times more likely to buy again than someone that downloads for free (so if you build a list of 80 by giving it away for free then this list is only worth 8 paid or less)) that is much mor committed than someone who gets it for free.

        2) you make some $ which you can invest back into promoting your product and building, which you make money from so that you can...

Just set up a simple paypal button and then split test the price, try $7 and $17. So you could set up four pages (page 1 with 2 different prices and same for page 2) and spilt test with google optimiser until you have at least 100 opt ins before cahnging anything.

As far as the follow ups go, go and get more Useful info that you can send them every few days don't sell them anything, just give them massive value.

Then after at least 8 emails of value make a recomendation if you have something that would suit them.

Hope this makes sense, I am in a hurry. PM me if you need help

        and

    Iconicera:

For starters, I would change the format.

Start with a headline like "You Are About to Learn Secrets Most People Will Never Know About Yeast Infections"

Subhead 'Think You Have a Yeast Infection? Take this simple test below to find out!'

Now the video, and an opt in to the right "Test Positive? Just fill out the form below, and get our free book "Dealing With Yeast Infections Naturally". Only have an email address in the opt in form (this gives the impression of privacy).

Do this right, and the whole page should come up 'above the fold' and get you some really decent conversion rates.

On the followups: Do the thank you for downloading immediately (put it in the confirmation message), and put in a download link in that email as well (as a reminder to download it of course).

Fix that for now, work on some content and find some products to sell, get those messages done, then launch, using your blog to drive the traffic.

You got the right idea, just work the plan, and you'll be ok.

Just use Google Website Optimizer to test both. I prefer the second one because I think it leads them to opt-in better.

Things I'd be interested to try out are:

    - bullets (you could use with the text or reduce the amount of text to make it easier to scan read).

    - removing the video (they don't always improve conversions plus watching the video could be a reason to opt-in... ie. to discover a way to self-diagnose).

    - a snappier more benefit driven headline (Learn everything you need to know about yeast infections without the embarassment of asking your Mum... or something).

Personally, I would try the second squeeze page, have the page end immediately after the book and opt-in box (ie. a lot shorter). Change the headline and reduce some of the text to bullets. Then test variations (ie. headline, with/without video, no bullets, red coloured headline, arrow pointing to the opt-in).

Goodluck... I used Google Website Optimizer for the first time the other day and if you can make a page like that you can add the text in a couple of minutes. Then let it roll....

I think you're doing wicked - well done!

thanks, I have rearranged the page a little and now it looks like this:

      Page 2

I am not that experienced and I don't know how to do the split test or web optimization, I will for starters focus on how to promote it and get traffic..

Just had a look at it, and it appears you're still not getting it.

A squeeze page needs to be 'short and sweet' in order to convert better.

Here's what I got so far. Just need to put the form in, and you're done:

It is a great Idea to put the test after the opt in, and as far as how you do it just remove the video and put it on your thank you page for optin in, If you use Aweber which I think you do by the form aweber allow you to put your own thank you page in instead of theirs.

Why? The test acts as a 'negative qualifier' so only people who test positive sign up, which is what you want.

        Hey,
this is me again, a couple of days later.

I've put up my squeeze page, and after all it looks like this:

How to Get Rid of Yeast Infections Once and for All - Naturally

        thanks to Floyd

So far I have 10 articles with that link published at Articlesbase, and a few forum posts on a Croatian health forum.
Most of the forums I found over Google don't allow any kind of links or promotions.
I've set up a follow-up sequence for the next 40 days with no selling, just informative articles..
When should I start with promotional offers?

And my second question is: how many subscribers per day should I consider enough?
With only 10 articles and two forum posts I got 8 subscribers the first day,
        is this good, bad?
I'm doing this for the first time so I have no idea how many subscribers should I expect per day - for starters
