Squidoo!

INTERNET MARKETING

Hey guys, does anyone still find squidoo ranks well?

I am about to test it out in a competitive market and figured I would get any findings from anyone else.

I've never found that Squidoo sites rank well for me in Google search.
However, building a property there and linking to my well-thought-out domain
certainly still indreases the rank of my target page.

  I guess it all depends on experience...but...
  
  I have been writing for Squidoo for over 2 years....one of my lenses ranked #2 in the business category there for the better part of last year (of course, lensrank fluctuates so much....).... (the business category, IMHO, is probably one of the most competitive...)...
  
  While I do love Squidoo (partly because of seth godin)...I find it very difficult to earn there, even with 80 lenses...
  
  Personally, I only use it now to direct those lenses to my articles at Info Barrel (I have consistently earned 90% of Adsense revenue there....)

  Have you explored any other 'similar' websites to Squidoo? I do have a VERY detailed spreadsheet graph that I put together that analyzes the functionality and offering PROS/CONS of 19 similar companies (eHow, Squidoo, etc...)

  I'm still pretty new at Squidoo and have a couple of accounts over there. Most of my lenses do well on Google and Yahoo seems to have major major love for them. My articles on eHow, Helium, etc. have not done as well. Xomba doesn't seem too used but I've had very good luck with them with Google, more so then Squidoo, but it's basically just a social bookmarking/ article submission site, there's not as much flexibility as Squidoo.

  Don't get my wrong....based on alot of experience, Squidoo is still in my top 3 sites to write for, but, surprisingly, not really to make money from (I know that sounds weird...lol)...but, my Top 2 favorite sites bring me in way more than Squidoo does...and, I have well over 80 Squidoo Lenses...
  
  I still recommend having Squidoo as just one sliver of an even larger passive income strategy....
