Without paying? Well, handling your websites in SEO purposes. If you know the process of SEO then you can work with it. Then you should target your keywords and do the link building process to improve your rankings in Google.

Totally agree with article marketing as a surefire way to drive traffic. That, along with basic SEO are the best way to me.

Having said that, this question is asked very frequently. Do a forum search and you'll come up with lots of good posts.

When it comes to free traffic, in order of effectiveness:

1. Web 2.0 Marketing
2. Article Marketing
3. Blog trackbacking

These 3 give direct benefit to SEO too, so your site can go higher and higher in Google, resulting in free organic search traffic.

Can I consider paying for traffic and then making back the money to be free technique? If yes,
the simple way will be:

1. A squeeze page for a free product
2. Buy traffic to the page and build a list
3. Put in a low price OTO offer, something below $10.

With this, you get traffic as much as you like, build a list, at the same time, earn back from the OTO and list marketing. Good for long term business!

Then, you can do adswap with people. On your adswap, you have to be able to convert at above 40%, same thing, present a OTO when they opt-in. Then, on the first email, tell them they can sell the OTO and earn 100% profit, this build even more subscribers for you. Go on for the list marketing for more affiliate income.

I use to think article writing was the best form of attracting targeted traffic.

But the method i use now is so much faster and more targeted.

I use a method that searches for targeted keywords and then process it through google alerts which sends me these leads as it happens.

It still has alot to do with forums and blogs but also has to do with answer sites and other related sites but this method has made me more sales in 1 month than i use to make in 4 months.

Its a very easy and neat concept, Just takes some work

Search Engines drive more traffic to a website than all other mediums combined. this is not opinion, but a fact. Therefore, logically, the answer to the question is SEO since organic listings yield the highest click through of the serps.

With SEO, article marketing, squidoo, forum discussion, comments, video creation, all that marketing jazz is used to improve SEO. In fact, for us, it's not 'SEO', it's merely marketing of transparency and exposure.

It's a long term game, it's take a while and a lot of work, but the work you put in will work for you for a long time (if done properly).

For me, I will have to say the two best ways are social networking sites & article marketing. They are both long term strategies, but I've seen articles where things are done decently bring in 5,000 views a week after posting on only one article directory. You can also get significant leads from social networking sites within a month or two, if you're not spammy.

In other words you are not bombarding your new friends with sales messages before building any kind of relationships. That's my two cents.

Seriously, a lot of folks don't realize how much organic traffic grows over time. Seems like everyone is in such a hurry to get traffic today that they don't think about tomorrow. And they end up chasing down every method under the sun without selecting and using a manageable number of them effectively.

My motto is is, "Every effort made at generating traffic should have a long-term, residual effect". Sure, I'm not going to see a lot of organic traffic the first month or three, but by following a carefully detailed plan, that traffic will eventually take on a life of it's own.

Ideally, if you need traffic ASAP, the thing to do is a nice blend of paid traffic (to get the ball rolling) while you develop the organic traffic. After three to six months, the paid traffic can stop, being replaced by the organic traffic.

If you are great at online marketing, then article marketing is your best friend to get solid targeted traffic. I think that is the best way to pre-sell.

Article marketing is good if you can get your articles ranked. Most of my traffic is from return visitors that originally found their way to my site from forums, etc.

The key with forums is to actually make informative posts. It's fine to have something in your sig, but don't go and post off topic. I'll refer someone to my site if I've already got a post on there that answers their question in detail.

Traffic is going to cost you no matter how you look at it. You either pay with your own time and do the work yourself or pay someone else to do it for you (time is our most precious resource, it's the only thing way can't get back). I prefer to drive traffic with PPC first so I can test & see immediately how well my offer converts. Once I know that I have an offer that converts well, I then focus on a combination of SEO, JV's, Affiliates & Social Media. Bottom line, don't waste time driving traffic to an offer that doesn't convert. With PPC you will know right away if your offer is a winner.

A lot of tedious work my friend If your not going to pay your going to have to write alot of articles yourself, unless you get high traffic keywords, but these usually only last so long until someone else knocks your spot.

So the best are Forum Marketing, Social Networking, Article Marketing , but maximise your results by outsourcing, hence you will have to pay.

Get your links out there in busy places. You want lots of people clicking the links from lots of locations. SEO is likely one of the best ways, as well as just get your link out in some of the biggest haunts on the net.

All of us who are into internet marketing want traffic to our websites without paying for it. I have to agree the gurus do not mention you have to WORK for what you want just like with anything else.

I have been using safelists and have not found them to be useful yet. I have posted on Craigslist for free myself. I would say forum marketing is one of your best bets. I have been able to make a couple of sales from the forums with my signature.

Steven i would have to say your exacto mundoly right if thats even a word.

Traffic exchanges are where i started and if used properly they become your best friend.

Especially when first starting out and broke like i was.

Traffic Exchanges is what got me out of the hole of debt.

Not just because i used to own one that wasnt until later on in my career.

Safelists i will have to say never really worked well for me.

I have never been much of a great writer and in my experience you really need to focus on the right type of safelists and how you write your letter to get those peoples attention, but i have heard of people getting 15-20 signups a day from safelists, just wasnt my cup of tea.

Steven since your the veteran around here maybe you have some cool secrets that other people dont share with the rest of us.
