The one thing that can make a difference.

I would like to start by thanking you all in advance for any advice or comments that you share.

I joined the warriors several years ago and I was really interested in the idea of making money online. I started like so many others. I joined this program and that program and tried to digest all the information I could.

Guess what I did with it? Nothing is right. I think it was because I was comfortable enough with my full time job and not serious about putting in the work that it takes to make it.

Now to the question...If you were starting over with no income and virtually no money to spend what's the one thing you would do to start making money?

I lost a job of 16 yrs. three weeks ago and I'm tired of someone else being in charge of my future. I will not waste your time by being someone that asks for your advice and then fails to use it. My determination and level of commitment are totally different this time around.

Thanks again,
SP

I lost my job a few years ago and looked online to sell stuff. Luckily I had a friend who owned a lingerie manufacturing company, so I started selling stuff from there, wholesale, to shops and ebayers. I set up a website, learned about SEO and managed to get to the top of Google UK for the popular search phrase 'wholesale lingerie' (plus others). At the time there was no competition because no other wholesalers were online.

From there I went onto selling clickbank products and physical products through amazon, commission junction etc.

You need to work at it, and treat it like a business rather than a hobby. It's the work that you do that will give you the money so you can eat, so you can have a roof over your head etc. Having nothing to fall back on will make you more determined to get it right and get it to work.

    Good luck!!

    Mike

I would recommend starting with a blogger blog and build from there. build up some good content, and start posting articles in the article directories. submit your feed to rss sites, bookmark your pages, and start finding forums within your niche to start driving some traffic quickly.
As soon as you can, get your own domain and hosting. then you can move to your own site. build it up from there.

Almost a year ago I started with a blogger blog, now i run 5 sites on my own hosting and still building. not rich, but with a lot of time and work you can make a decent living at it. Once you start making more than you need to pay your bills, start outsourcing and building up your business faster.

    Hi niteout,

I am really sorry to hear about the situation you are in.
If you have no startup cash to spend then the best route is freelancing. You can offer writing services, web designing services, etc.
Even I had no cash when I started in IM. I provide article writing services and i earn enough to continue my studies and fund my projects.
There are many other ways you can earn in IM, but most of them require some startup cash.
I would suggest you earn some money doing freelancing and then invest that money in a concrete IM business model.
Just look around in the Warrior For Hire section. That would be a good place to start. You will get to know the kind of services that can be offered.

    All the best..

You appear to write well, so why not try and land some writing gigs?

Also, there's a thread around here somewhere started by Paul Myers on how to get cash quick if you are desperate - definitely worth doing a search and reading that

I would capitalize on the skills you have. If you can write well, offer writing for money, or ghostwriting or guest blogging for money ... if you can build great looking blogs, flip them, if you're good at technical stuff, offer your services as a virtual assistant.

From there, you can start to build up some cash and branch out and eventually make your own product or market affiliate products if you want to. My online income is still service/product based, rather than affiliate marketing. I prefer it and if you don't have any skills to offer ... get some fast. Start learning.
