Some New Year's Inspiration... Have You Heard The Story Behind "Rocky"?

If you have a minute check out this story about Sly Stallone told by Tony Robbins if you haven't.

Sly was kicked out of over 1,500 different agencies... He was told countless times that he was "ugly", he "talked funny" and he'd never become an actor.

He was flat broke. No heat in his apartment. He sold his wife's jewelry. He sold his dog, who was his best friend, for $25.

He refused to get a job because he knew he'd become complacent and forget about his dream.

After watching an unknown boxer go the distance with Muhammad Ali, he was inspired. He sat down that same night, and wrote "Rocky" in a single 20 hour sitting.

When he tried to sell the screenplay, again, one rejection after another. "It's predictable". "It's sappy".

When he was flat broke, less than $20 to his name, he was offered (I believe) $150,000 for the script. He said "as long as I get to star in it." They said "no". He turned down $150k (And then ultimately $350k) in 1970's money when he was on the brink of homelessness.

They finally agreed to around $30k and a percentage of the movie revenue, with Stallone as the star. They didn't want to take a huge risk.

The movie was produced for $1 million and grossed well over $100 million, maybe a lot more.

And the first thing he did when he got his $30k? He bought his dog back, cost him $15k.

At the Oscars the next year, he had written down all of the negative comments about the script that he heard while being rejected, and read them off.

Pretty inspirational eh?

Sly experienced more rejection in life than probably anyone reading this post. He was disfigured from the time he was born, and no one except himself thought he'd ever make it as an actor and a writer.

If Sly Stallone can make his dreams a reality... You've got a better shot at being successful in IM or whatever it is you REALLY want to do than Sly ever had a being an actor.

What can you do over a 20 hour period to forever change your life?

I'll tell you right now... Clickbank top sellers, Guru's like Frank Kern and Eban Pagan.... They aren't successful because they're lucky, or because they "hoped" their way into success.

They sat down, they figured out what they wanted and what they needed to do to get it, and then they did it.

A brand new life could be 20 hours (or less) of work away... Something to think about.

    I'm surprised I hadn't heard it before.

I don't hate Sly or his movies, but I've never been like a huge fan.

I was going through some old Tony Robbins stuff the other day and heard it for the first time, I thought it was very inspirational.

I've got a little more respect for Sly now than I used to.

    Glad you like it.

    Thanks,
