INTERNET MARKETING

Sorry to bug you folks wif my stupidness.
Can you guys direct me to a place I can learn what all the acronyms and cool code words are so I can get a better grip on this new lingo im trying to laern?

2 days ago I thought the only way to make $ on the net was to use C/L or E- bay.
Wow construction for 30 yrs. didnt do me any favors!
And to top it off my type of guys I hang with are older or dont have a clue about internet, thus the dont listen to the naysayer folk type articles really apply to me.
I have been involved in multi level marketing before and hated it, but I sense this being networking on multiple levels, does that make sense?

The bast thing you can do is just read the forums here and ask questions. If you see something you dont know, ask about it... Most people here are really here to help and learn and will either give you the answer or show you where to look for it. Welcome aboard!

  I just lost my construction biz and a lil down right now ( was down both emotionally and financially, not so much emotionally anymore!
  Somehow I ended up here, dont ask me how because its been a life blur for the last few days, honestly.
  I feel I should have been here all along.
  This is starting to freak me out.
  For the first time in ages im exited for me! Yes me! exited!

Im right there with you um (menu item) in construction 16 years now trying to grasp this stuff. All I do is read read read and just when I think I have got a plan I think maybe I should read some more and thats when I tell myself I havn't read enough to be confident enough to start something. Maybe with our backgrounds we can do a JV (joint venture) I think. Anyways good luck to you. And all I can tell you is what I have read here and that is you dont have to pay for information its all right here. Just got to put it all together somehow. Im sure us noobs will do fine just may take a little longer. Thats ok i'm in no hurry I just want to do it right.

Hey guys... I understand where you are coming from. My dad owned his own manufacturing business for 30 years but had to pretty much shut it down because most of the work that he did has been outsourced to China. I brought him into my business and it was difficult for him at first. He didnt even have email. He only used the computer to type and print invoices -- that was it...

It has taken him a while and he's still not some supergeek, but he completely gets it and plays an important role in my company now.

The reason I tell you this is to let you know that if you are tenacious and really stick with it, you can get it. My dad was starting from ground zero and now he could certainly make money online by himself if he needed to... Just read, ask questions and do... read ask questions and do.... Make sure you dont forget to take action and try things as you learn them or you will lose them and forget. The key is to not let it intimidate you, just keep on trying things. You'll get it.

I'd give you some links to go get a quick free course on IM lingo, but I can't post links until I jabber more, and submit a few more posts throughout the forum

One thing you can do though is go to your favorite search engine and enter "Internet Marketing lingo" or some variation. You will find several websites with acronyms and "lingo" that will catch you up to speed, at least to the point that you'll understand when people use, IM, SEO, SE, SEM, CPA, CPM, ROI, and a myriad of other commonly used acronyms in the biz

No prob Menu,

I would also suggest getting your username with your real name in it. People are usually more willing to help a real person than an anonymous name. Mainly because many spammers sign up here with generic type usernames.
