Thanks, but it only works for Windows, not Mac.

This would be ver-ry useful, though! Anyone writing an ebook would find this extremely valuable, I'd think.

Hey Mark,

I haven't used this program yet, just judging from the samples given on their site, it appears coveractionpro not only has more 'templates' and can generally produce a better looking product - IF you know what you're doing. It's a set of action scripts that is used in conjunction with Photoshop, so it's not a self contained solution, and you've got to really have some design skills to use it.

It probably wasn't a good analogy for me to use, since they're very different in that way.

There is one other "catch", ALL give-away-of-the-day offerings are licensed for NON-COMMERCIAL use only.
Use it for your IM business and you violtate the GAOTD TOS.

Actually there is one more catch. You still have to have some graphics talent to create a great looked ecover. I am not an art composer and when I try to make a compelling cover, it just does look as good as one done by one who has an eye for art.

Although I have the program and previous versions offered by GAOTD, I will still have to hire most covers I need done in the future.

Oops! This is a pretty serious limitation, I'm grateful to you for pointing it out Bob. I was looking for something like this, guess I'll still have to keep looking.

Does anyone have any recommendations for similar software? It doesn't have to be free, as long as it's reasonably priced and can allow graphically-challenged users like myself to create decent e-book and box covers.

It is ok to use the software for your business needs it is not ok to sell it you have no rights to it but it is the same as buying a software in the store your not allowed to sell it but you can use it. i don't understand your thought here

On startup the program indicates that it is a trial version.

What are the limitations of this version? Has anyone tested it to see the effect of it being a 'trial version"?

CoveractionPro only renders at one angle with Photoshop.

This is standalone software that can render any angle, lighting or shading...it's basically 3D software for ebook creation. Perfect for creating "bundles" that actually look real from a visual perspective.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about:

Shots like this are very difficult to pull off with Coveraction Pro due to it's fixed angles.

Thanks for the download, my first cover didn't turn out very well, but I just used the first image I found in my files. I will try and design an image later and see if it works better.

Hi Ivan,

Sometimes the GOTD registration process can be a little funky, but it is the full, registered version. If you go to Help/About you should see that it is registered to GiveawayOfTheDay. Also, if you check the download page, you'll see some comments about this.

  Yes, WD is correct.
  
  This info is in the readme file that's included, so you do need to follow these directions.
  
  You can simplify the process by DEselecting the option to run the program upon installation completion. Install the program, but don't run it until AFTER you run activate.exe. That will work also.
