The best paid traffic methods

Hey,

It seems like there are so many cheap people out there in the IM world. I am actually finding it hard to find advice about paid traffic.

So, what are the best methods of paid traffic?

Thanks,

    It depends on your niche.

Some get good profits from PPCs.
Some outsource articles and submit to article directories to get traffic.
Some buy ads on forums and high traffic sites.

You should be thinking which one is best for YOU.

Paid press releases can be a really good way to spread the word about your product. They work well even when promoting affiliate products. The biggest benefit is that your press release is seen as an objective story about you and your product. Make sure that you place a link to your web site a couple of times throughout the body of the press release. You don't want to have to count on people making it to the end of your release. If they want more information, they can click to your website right away. Two excellent paid press release sites are PRweb.com andPRNewswire.com.

Article distribution services are another paid method of advertising. You simply pay a company to distribute your article to various groups, websites, email addresses and article directories. This used to be very effective before Google began penalizing for duplicate content. However, article submission services can still drive traffic to your site. Therefore, if you're not particularly concerned about getting your article ranked, you may still be able to get some targeted traffic.

    Hope This Helps

I also agree with press releases.

What is your niche? PPC will suck if your niche is in the finance field (payday loans, mortgage, etc.) because you will be spending millions

I am in the personal finance niche. I have just started with adwords and I am only paying about $0.15/click to drive them to a squeeze page.

I would never go into payday loans or anything like that. I am more about financial education and how to manage money.

This is really a great way to drive targeted traffic, and this is basically media buying but in a more manageable size. You could do this on a smaller scale with websites that have a small to moderate amount of traffic, and you can of course scale by adding more websites or buying banner spots on highly trafficked niche websites (after doing some testing and tracking, of course).

Press releases can work well, but they have to be well written and have a real, original story to tell. Distributing a press release about your new website or CPA offer, or about a product you are promoting will interest no one and is a waste of time and effort.

If you have a unique story, a brand new product, or an original angle, go for it. Otherwise, I'd stick to article marketing on directories like EZA.

As for a press release being 'seen as an objective story about you and your product,' sorry but that's just not true. In my day job, I receive at least a dozen press releases in my inbox daily. Never, ever, do I think that they are objective. Every press release I've ever seen (and that's tens of thousands) has been pitching something and is the precise opposite of 'objective.'

Yahoo is better than Google for finance.

Second choice would be Advertise.com and then Adbrite.com. MediaTraffic.com would probably also work well for you.

This could be a stupid question but does Yahoo have a PPC program like adwords?

Choose PayPerClick method based on your niche. It doesn't work well for few niche such as finance. My suggestion will be press release, article submission, blogs & forum posting, google adwords...Do some research which method suits your niche and go ahead.

    Good luck!!!

Yes. Overture was bought by Yahoo many years ago. Here's the link:

    Yahoo! Advertising

Register for "sponsored search" to start. That is the adwords style self-help program.

Once you have an ad spend of 5 figures a month or so, take a look at their other programs. They are even better for the finance niche.

Microsoft has an adswords type program as well, but I wouldn't recommend it for finance (except maybe things like payday loans which you say you aren't involved in).

Google Adwords will almost always be your WORST choice for paid advertising. It is a bid system. It is more well known than most. And 95% of the participants are losing money, but still bidding everything up.

It's bad enough competing against competent peers. When you have to compete against idiots who are bidding way more than even a very competent marketer can convert, you have a very low chance of success.

But if you like that style of paid advertising, both Yahoo and Microsoft offer the same.

The other companies I mentioned will do better with a finance offer than any of the PPC engines though.

And yes. You are right. I don't know why, but Warriors either seem to shy away from paid advertising or the ones that do use it keep everything secret. I never understood that scarcity mentality.

    1. PPC-of course... instant traffic, but can get pretty expensive
    2. Facebook Ads-has been receiving fantastic feedback from the majority
    of the community
    3. PPV-if monetized right, has a great ROI
    4. Banner ad placements in Google content network

    Hi moneyblogger,

If you got the money and the skill, go for PPC.
Just be careful, you can lost your shirt in the process.

Of course, of all things equal, I love FREE traffic. Just my preference.

I have not seen anyone mention it yet but Stumbleupon ppc is awesome and slighty cheaper then google as long as you have the right targeted keywords and good content i mean $5 bucks for 100 visitors is not much but if you think about how the visitors will bookmark or "like" your site on top shows how quick can get organic traffic on top also.

    Just my 2 cents

It really depends on your budget and what you're trying to do.

I use almost all types of advertising, but PPV has been one of the best things since I started using it 1-2 yrs ago.

My advice if your budget is low and you're looking to drive sales - use a 2nd tier PPC networks such as 7Search or Miva.

Looking to drive leads? PPV is the way to go for sure...

Targeted traffic from other related sites (buy ad spot). Check the sites alexa to see what country's most of the traffic comes from and if it meets your criteria

PPC is good. Be sure to campaign code everything closely and spread out the keywords and see what bites. Start out slow.

That's because (some of) the best things in the world are free - like getting JV partners to promote your product (as long as you have a high-converting quality product and you have a wide network). If not, you can achieve the same results by paying for solo ads.

Well JVs definiitely aren't free....given you usually will pay healthy commisisions to them.

You really have two tiers for paid methods.

Small players (Part-time IMers) - These resort to tactics that take time but less money because of their shoestring budgets. In addition, because they don't usually own their products they also have less flexibility from a margin standpoint. A lot of the advice given on this forum must be screened by this viewpoint.

Large players (Corporations, professional IMers) - These focus on tactics that can easily scale because of their need to drive high volume and typically large budgets. Because they sometimes own their products they can afford to pay more for lead/sale than affiliate types. The large players use channels like PPC, banners ads, list mgmt, etc. because they are highly scalable and it works.

google search is great, whilst second tier advertising requires that you have an opt-in page to collect leads (which you should do on google search too)

I use PPC a lot and I am very happy with the results

The good thing with paid traffic is once you have your systems in place you can get as much traffic as you can afford
