What's your monthly fee threshold?

Hi Warriors,

I keep getting offers for things using the ever more popular 'continuity' model - or memberships etc.

Now, over the years I've paid anything up to around $1000 a month for memberships to things, but since I've seen quite a few people here looking for people to justiify the one-time price of joining the War Room, and that's something I've even paid for others to have because it's so obviously useful, I'm wondering what your threshold is - what amount is 'too much' to you?

I know it'll be different for different people in different situations, so here's an example:

I'm intending to open a new membership in the new year on the subject of traffic generation.
This is obviously something I've been publishing information on for many years since rss feeds came out and blogging and pinging was new. I've covered many link building strategies over the years, but things keep changing and there are ways to do things that work and ways that don't so although I know it's not a new subject, I want to devote some time and attention to it and share that with others.

I have my normal dilema of I'd do it for free if I could but I know that people just won't do things that are free (I've tested this extensively), and I also don't want to make it too exclusive and put it beyond people who need it.

Then there's the reason for this thread - peoples threshold.

Don't worry - I'm going to look at your threshold and price things to try and maximise what I think you'll spend (I know that's what some people do), but I am really interested in what you consider an acceptable amount to be (I am obviously looking to drop in well under that anyway).

Does limiting numbers make you give something more value? or do you care more about the cost and it being as low as possible?

I'm really interested to see what real peoples views on this are now.

Thanks

Andy

I really don't care for membership sites but I understand the need for them. That being said, I have only paid for two months at 97 dollars. I couldn't see myself going any higher than that.

Limiting membership doesn't do anything for me.

I know that 99% of the members will never use the information. It doesn't matter if you shout the information to the world.

If the information is valuable to me, I'll pay without considering how many other people supposedly could compete with them (if they ever got off their fat arse and actually did something with the information they buy).
