Video/Tube traffic How?

Hello all ..
I am new on this forum and I was reading posts on it in the last few weeks and I loved it so I decided to join and say hello to everyone here.

I have question tho about video marketing.
How do I drive traffic with videos to my website? As I know people can not click on youtube videos to go directly to my website so I guess only if I put my website URL over the video so that people can see it and type my URL in new browser window. Please if you know anything about this or any link on this forum that is helpful I would appreciate it.

cheers
Jerem

In your video description put your link too, it will show up as a clickable hyperlink.

What Slin said plus add a call to action.

Tell your viewers to click on that link. Dangle a carrot in front of them, too. Make it clear that they will benefit from clicking that link.

And by the way: On YouTube, you have to write out the complete address, including the "http://" bit for the link to become clickable.

Don't forget to add tags that are very specific to your video. That may help you rank well and appear in the google search results.

You should also write a keyword rich description for your video. This will help with ranking etc too.

Your video thumbnail is also important for attracting viewers. Make sure that it's relevant to the topic of the video

        Very good advice above.

Also look to drive traffic TO your videos. This will increase the organic views of the videos, which help to rank the videos in Youtube (there are other factors too). You should start to get some really consistent traffic coming in after a while.

Oh and make your videos entertaining, and interesting. Nobody will want to click on your link, if your videos suck.

Watermark the start and end with your website name - some people watermark the entire length, but I think that does not look professional.

Put a hyperlink in the first line of the video description.

Reply to video comments and tell them - "be sure to visit the site."

When someone sends you a private message on youtube, always include a reference to the website and ask them to visit.

Add a link to the video in social bookmarking sites like stumble, digg and mister wongs.

      Yep, I second this!!

Especially the "telling your viewers what to do" part.

Only problem with this is that people can rip the video, cut the beginning and end out and then use it for their own purposes.

yeah, this may sound silly to most warriors, but if I had a nickel for every youtube video I saw with a url in the description without the http:// before it, I could use that money to buy my Audi S5

So that and what some other people mentioned about tags.

Make sure your tags, title, and description are consistent as far as keywords are concerned.

Make your title similar or identical to "high view" videos too if you can.

Youtube: First word in the description. Put an arrow in the video pointing over the right at about the same level as the link appears, and place it at various times, and at the end of the video ....ie:

"now click here to visit my site --> "
"Get started now by clicking here --> "

At the end of the video, place text that reads, "Applaud by ranking" and people will rank your video with 5 stars, which will increase its exposure in youtube search.

one thing I discovered that is advantageous to do is to encourage your viewers
      to leave video responses.

You end up with tons of internal YouTube backlinks

So when people make a video response to your vid, they are doing you more a favor then themselves

I use the annotation mode to make an arrow that shows up for the last 10 to 20 seconds of the video. This acts as an "Eye Guider" to guide the watcher to your URL in the description box.

It should look something like this

Visit the link Now to grab your "FREE" report ------------------------------------>>>

If the link is the first thing that appears in the desription box then you'll have your annotation box, arrow thingy (or whatever you wanna call it) pointing to your URL.

    Hope that helps

There are some good responses here, most of which you could add to your basic strategy, but keep in mind that all of your competition will be doing these things as well.

If you are using videos to drive traffic to your site you must do this ONE thing to be more successful than anybody else.

You must create a COMPELLING reason for the viewer to visit your website.

That often means you have to be really creative in your video production, be that with humor, drama, conviction, or even controversy. Whichever way to approach it, if you do it right, it doesn't really matter how bad you screw up the other stuff, viewers will seek and find you as their top priority.

What I am saying here is creative power and impact is utmost in video marketing. Think about a mere 4 years ago, when you could post a youtube video and hey that was something. Now there are over 1 billion video streams per day from youtube, and although the market has grown, the competition is mighty fierce too.

I have posted 150+ videos specific to the poker market (search:turtleknife) most of which are on my channel. I can now launch a site using ONLY youtube, because I have such a strong following there now which results in about 3,000 to 5,000 views per day on any combination of my videos. That means I can basically usurp my competition now even though they are established keyword competitors. Through the use of my aweber subscribers, twitter, sidewiki, and of course my Youtube channel and the subscribers there, I can create IMMEDIATE traffic.

So not only do you have to be really creative and impactful, consider the task as part of your business model and put up a video as often as you can. In my experience, as poweful video is better than 20 ezinearticles with backlinks, because videos spread much faster now because more and more blogs pick them up for content. Not only that, with proper logo ID, you will have lifetime licensing of that content with 99% worry-free content theft. THAT is REAL internet real estate.

I have google alerts that for my videos and keywords I compete for and I see videos of mine made years ago now, popping up everyday. I also see them being Tweeted and Re-Tweeted on Twitter via other marketers. I just smile.

So Dude - be creative with conviction, and then be dedicated in your volume production. Youtube will allow you to OWN a market if you choose to.

The video should look as though it is entertainment rather than a promotional video for marketing - more people will click on titles like:-
        "Madonna Never Did This!"
        or:-
"Britney Spears Would Never Dream Of It!"

Well you get the idea - wouldn't you click on those titles?

Get a Youtube Bomber (software) and use it to mass comment on other people's videos, add friends, and send message to them after you've submitted your VIDEOS to get more views.

You can save a lot of your time by "automating" the process.
