I've got my own blog and it's mildly successful: I'm getting about 250 visitors/day on average and am even selling an ebook on my site using PayPal and on Amazon as a Kindle book with some success. However, I'm thinking of putting the ebook onto clickbank because, of course, then I potentially gain additional affiliate power. (I know my ebook is good - I get compliments all the time from my readers and almost no refunds.)

Here's my question:

I've read some recommendations that I do a big pre-launch and launch when I offer the ebook. Do I really need to do that? Why can't I just put it out there on clickbank without all the bruhaha and fanfare? I don't know what I'm talking about, but it seems to me that in time the affiliates will see that it's a good book and pick it up? In other words, won't a good product slowly rise to the top on clickbank?

Any advice is much appreciated.

I would have answered this and given you some good reasons as to why or why not, but there is no clue as to who you are, or what your product is.

First post, no personal contact info, definately - no bruhaha or fanfare!

First bit of advice, tell us who you are or at least give a link to your product somewhere.

It's the almost no refunds bit + putting it on clickbank that worried me. You really need to know that on average ?%-?% of all sales on clickbank are refunded.

There are alternatives to clickbank. (not many I will admit, but the way they just refund no matter what the reason - 60 days too....... you've got to have alteranative protection and options)

    I don't and won't sell through clickbank.

Not "to the top", no. You need hype, money, vendor-reputation, experience and knowledge of "the tricks of the trade" to achieve that outcome. But it can rise on its own merits some of the way.

Difficult to say more without knowing more ...
Thx for the comments. Actually, I don't really about rising to "the top". My blog is a labor of love - yeah, seriously - and money is secondary. What I really like to do is post and create content that will help people. I've also got a full time job, 3 kids and a puppy, so I have little spare time. That's why marketing is secondary for me, so if I can plop it out on clickbank and watch it climb in time, that's good enough for me.

Hope that makes sense. I'm just saying I'm interested in slow and steady growth - that's really all I have time for. But let me know if I"m missing something...

My sales page has about almost a 3% conversion rate. That's pretty good, isn't it? Or would you guys recommend putting it out here for people on warrior to review before I go onto clickbank?

Clickbank is a great potential to making alot of sales. I would say to outsource putting a product on clickbank. Don't make a ebook, make a video course. It is more valued, and throw a ebook in for free to get thru your squeeze page.

I agree with the first reply to you, put your information so I can look at your sites.

Just add it on clickbank, and you'll make some sales.

But if you want affiliate to start promoting it, you'll need to go and find them.

A cheap way of getting it in front of your first affiliates is to advertise on Harvey Segal's forum at:

Have you ever looked into ejunkie? I seem to have better luck with payments. Clickbank you need to have a purchase from different CC's etc? Before they authorize a payment, correct?

If you want to get affiliates on CB you should do the following:
    1) Build a list of potential buyers.
    2) Sell to the list as soon as your product goes on CB.
    This will result in:
    - Getting high gravity on CB
    - thus getting more affiliates since they see "Wow, this product is selling!"
