How much needed to get started?

I have a niche collectible, I would like to create a website to sell it. How much money and time will it take to do it right?

You can go ahead and outsource this work for under $100 or you can do it yourself and take the next few weeks trying to get it perfect.

    How much do you have?

Look, if you've got money in your pocket, there's a place to spend it. But to set up a website, all you need is $10 for a domain and $5 for hosting, and you can get started. You can sell your collectibles on eBay for no up-front cost, listing all your auctions on your site for easy reference, and accept payment via PayPal... also for no up-front cost. Both eBay and PayPal will take a cut of your sales, but it's pretty small, and you still make a profit.

In fact, you can list a few things on eBay before you get your website, and buy the domain and hosting after you get a sale or two.

Sounds like a pretty good plan to me! I'd say give this a go while you build your site, have it ranking etc as it may take some time until it's all done.
