Links using Tinyurl or Bit.ly Question

Ok.. so if I use Tinyurl for the link to my website, does Google pick up the cloaked site and give you the backlink?

ie. If my site is dogtraining dot com and I use tinyurl will dogtraining dot com get the backlink wherever I post the tinyurl?

Sorry for the 'dot's' but I don't have 15 post to post web addresses

Thanks :-)

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't think your site would show up if you cloak it.

These are not link cloakers. They are link SHORTENERS. As to the rest of your question, I don't have that answer.

I do not think your site will get the backlink. Remember, your tinyurl will be the point of access to your website and not your real URL. If you are looking for backlinks, you may have to use your URL.

If you want a backlink, you want to use anchor text. There is no cloaking,or anything.
This is an example using your dog training as an example.[not a real link]
    <a href="hxxp://xxx.dogtraining.com">your keyword here</a>
Replace the x's with the appropriate letters.
The spot that says [your keyword here],put the keyword that you want to get ranked for.

Yes, you will get a backlink with your anchor text. However, the backlink will be pointed to your shortened URL, not your actual long URL.

So when and if the URL shorterner service provided goes down, down goes your shortened URL too. Stick with your long URL IMO.

Those two link shorteners you mentioned are greatly used by spammers - I would avoid using them altogether, if you emailed a list people may think this is spam.

You would definately not get the backlink for your site - can you imagine how many backlinks these two shorteners get because you use them!
