Couple of questions re. The 30 Day Challenge

Hello Warriors

I have been making steady money online, however I have only been using Articles, some web 2.0 and USFreeads for traffic. I did not have my own site. I recently went through the videos for the 30 day challenge which I highly recommend however I only took notes and I plan to go through it again when I begin building my own site. I have a couple of questions :

1) How useful for building back links is Traffic Bug? To be honest I had never heard of it. Has everyone had a good experience with it?
2) When placing ads on your site, should you only use 1 affiliate ad? I know you don't want to give too much choice to the visitor, however I thought maybe 2 would be more lucrative?

    Hi David,

    RE:traffic bug, I personally never saw much in the way of results, but some people swear by it. Maybe someone whose used it recently could comment.

    RE:ads, consider simple text-links too, after all, that's what they're running their eyes over, and a lot of people are ad-blind (I know I am). Open the links in a new tab so they don't leave your site.

    In addition, the 30DC neglects list building, something I wish I had started doing long ago. Maybe consider popping up a squeeze page or something. I started with the 30DC too, and had thousands of visitors before deciding to start building lists. Sure, some of them clicked through and bought something, but on one site my ranking dropped and I was left with nothing, whereas if I had been building a list that would have been a tangible asset.

      I loved my little bug in the beginning but the love has worn off for the simple reason that my sites do better without it when I just give it my own secret sauce

      As to the 30DC it is designed to get you started so they don't cover everything. I would suggest that you follow the challenge through to the letter and then when you are comfortable work on building a list, testing different monetization methods and testing different traffic methods.

        You're absolutely right, list building was not covered in the 30DC... But was covered in depth in 4 lessons in the 30DC Plus, with a high stress on how important it is.

        They leave no doubt that creating your own list is the ONLY way to have a great business, since it is the only client list you actually own, and cannot be easily taken away from you.

        I think it is only left out of the 30DC for two reasons.

        First, they are trying to do everything basically free.

        Secondly, Time constraints. It would be difficult to teach list building along with everything else they are covering in only 30 days.
