Calling All Newbies Who Are Still Doing Nothing After Learning So Much From All Warriors Here...

Dear Newbies Who Are Still Doing Nothing,

Like you, I'm also a IM newbie myself, going through the whole warrior forum, programs after programs, videos after videos, ebooks after ebooks.

How much time are you going to waste?

Think about it, you can't drive or swim after going through theory lessons, can you? So why do you think there's any difference for IM?

That's what I told myself, so few days ago I decided enough is enough and posted my very 1st IM goal (make my first $40 bucks so that I can join the War Room Membership, haha) and plan on the forum. Up til now, there isn't one moment that I'm not thinking, implementing & following through.

I really suggest you do the same because once you did that, you'll be accountable to yourself & to those Fellow Warriors that has been sharing their knowledge so that we can have our IM education.
  • No matter how big/small your goal
  • No matter how much you think you don't know enough
  • No matter how bad you think your plans are
Post it here because it's really not so much about the end results, it's the learning process that's going to be with you for life no matter where you might be.

You probably learn more than just listening and reading.

Just my 2 cents. I wish you success.

Regards,
Darren

I think this is a great idea!

Choosing a very small goal to go for at first is probably a good option. Making $40 is very attainable to anyone and you're not likely to end up disappointed. If your goal is to make thousands over night, disappointment is almost inevitable.

I wish you all the best, Darren.

Newbies listen up to this thread. The main roadblock that most new internet marketers run into is they never get started so they never make a dime. I can remember a few years back when my brother asked me to teach him how to make money with article marketing. I gave him the basics and taught him enough to make some money.

    What did he do?

He wrote two articles and never did another thing. He didn't understand why he was not making any money and I tried to explain to him that it takes more than 2 articles. I have well over 2,500 articles now and at that time had over 1,000, but he just didn't get it.

Even if you start small with just one article a day you will get there eventually. Do something for your business every single day and you will see the results you are after in due time.

Hi Benjamin, were you teaching your brother to write articles and send them to directories or write articles for other people. The reason I ask is I see in your sig that you write for other people.

For many newbies (and even non newbies) the real problem could be a little more deep rooted than that. Do you have a history of getting things done, or do you procrastinate the day away? Do you tend to dream instead of taking action? Are you successful in other areas of your life, or is internet marketing just another in a long list of failures? Have you ever had a successful business?

It is one thing to say, "hunker down and just do it" but another to actually have the mindset and the habits to succeed.

Fortunately, you can always learn new habits.

I was teaching him to do so to make money with adsense and clickbank. I used to only write for myself, but I find writing for others keeps me sharp and makes me some good extra money that I need right now for a lot of different things.

I actually have been thinking about my plans for 2010! Although I made some money with freelancing services I haven't been that successful with products or list building for example. So my goals until the end of January 2010 are:

    1. Build a list of 500 loyal subscribers
    and
    2. Make $1000
    and
    3. Create a membership website

That's it. I am working on the list building, trying to come up with ideas for products to complete no. 2 and already thinking of ideas for the membership website. Once I decide what to do I will start working on it right away. I am motivated and I won't stop until I reach my goals!

    Happy Holidays!

I'm also a newbie and I agree about goal setting. I'm still on the learning curves and bought ebooks and get other warriors free advice here. Like investorist, I would like to put my goal in print. I already put it in papers but I wanted to put it here as well.

    My Goal for 2010:
    1. $1000 per month
    2. Make at least 500 Subsriber
    3. Have my own membership site - (not sure how to do this but I'm interested to have my own membership site).

Good luck to us and may we all find our success!!!

For all warriors who had been kind enough to share your knowledge, I would like to send my sincerest gratitude. Thank you so much and you may always have patience to teach the newbies like me.

To my fellow newbies, we can do it as long as we do our best and take ACTION to get our goal.

    Merry Christmas to all!!!

If not taking action is the number one reason for failure, taking the wrong actions has to run a close second .

The op set up a very vigorous routine in another post . If this regimen is followed ... success is there for the taking . I thought it a little overboard to obtain the goal trying to be reached but also realize that if the procedures are followed ... the op will realize those real goals that are in the back of his mind .

Make sure that the plan you set up is one that can produce results . By making a public decree, most veteran warriors will help you make sure that your plan is doable .

As you can see from my status I am also a newbie. My goal for the near future is to average one sale a day by the end of March. Methods I am using to meet my target,
      1) Finish reconstruction of my website by end of 2009.
      2) Continue my PPC campaigns.
      3) Utilize backlinks made available from Angela V Edwards
      4) Reinvest initial earnings back into the site.
      5) Article Marketing.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

      Hi,
      @ james,
if your interested in learning membership sites I own a site designed for this very purpose By the time your done with me you will have one up and running and know how to get content added etc anyways not to go off topic but that is the purpose of my site memberprods.com

For any newbies reading this well I prefer beginners .

Here is a tiny bit of help to get you going in the right direction.

Write a list for yourself for each day. include what things you are going to learn and then APPLY them. If you are going to want to be a product creator then absorb any info on the subject same goes for any subject you may wish to enter I.E> your Niche.

Second. develop a strategy that will do 2 things
make yourself stand out above the crowd.

And allow you to build a rep fast. the strategy needs to include some of the following
what do you have to offer is it writing. is it creating etc surround your strategy around something you are passionate about this will allow you to focus if your really into the subject.

Also include in it a 30 day plan set small goals not huge ones huge goals leave room for huge disappointment and huge chances of giving up. each time you reach a landmark reward yourself maybe get a coffee have a snack of your favorite thing etc. the reason why is you will gain confidence in doing this and the reward is incentive to go on to the next one.

Do not try and do everything at once. start small work up.

The final step is to monetize after your research and absorbing you should have a good grasp on what is needed to monetize your niche. there are several ways to monetize once you have a solid foundation and product. use articles post in forums advertise anywhere you can use google keyword search tool pick the highest search phrases and terms for your site service and niche. local as well as global.

Once you get people coming to the site make them the offer they can't refuse. don't try and write your own sales letter if you don't know how. take it from me it is a lot of work causes a lot of frustration and even after it looks great it still needs work. if you can't hire one grab a program and a book and sit and read and try and when it is good enough you would buy it then post it. I had an awful lot of work to do with mine and that was when I thought it was cool.

Ask for help. Don't ever be afraid to ask for help especially in this forum Many many of us are here for that purpose.

The other thing I suggest in your strategy is looking at your ability as something that is already a commodity Understand that whatever you enter into if it is a fit your already bringing a product -YOU create your strategy around your expertise yes i said expertise remember i just told you to absorb as much as you can in the Niche you chose. this will give you that extra bit of oomph in your venture.

DO not i repeat DO NOT buy anything until you have developed your strategy and decided what Niche your going to enter that best fits your strategy.
I wasted a lot of money and time starting out I learned in the school of hard knocks Internet style .

Once you have done the above you can then

      Hope this helps someone

Darren, great post! At the end of the day, you can learn all the theory and techniques you want, but if you don't actually put it into ACTION they are essentially worthless! Just because you could potentially earn money from these methods doesn't mean you've actually earned it - that only comes from putting things into action! Newbies need to overcome their fear of failure and actually implement what they've learned, otherwise they're just spinning their wheels and going nowhere fast! It's alright to ask questions and educate yourself, but you must remember you'll never make any headway without taking action. I was in that state of paralysis and/or half-hearted action for a couple of years myself. You not only need to take action, but you need to take focused, consistent action to really see a significant degree of success!

I'm still not among those who earn more than 500$. But some things that worked for me:
    1. Small actions or small steps (If article writing is your goal then write atleast 1 article a day)
    2. Promote your products (articles/blog/forum)
I'm taking very depth approach when it comes to driving traffic. I can't invest into WSO much but even free information here on WF and WFWar Room is valuable. Use it immediately. Make some to-do tasks for yourself that will help.
