For those that flip websites or sell domains...

I own more than 70 domains, and since I have no time to get to most of them, I was thinking about selling some of them.

Some have WP created... but nothing on them. (I know, dumb ) - just stuff I planned to get to but never did.

Others "used" to have stuff on them but eventaully either faded away or the offer ended kind of thing.

I don't really want to go somewhere to manage bidding wars over them just because I frankly don't have the time to monitor them.

My question basically is,

First - what kind of info is needed/requested - most of them don't have page rank (which Google claims not to care about anymore anyway)... most do have "some" visitors coming daily (minor)... so I wasn't sure if this is anything that matters?

Second - is it more practical to sell it on an auction type site, or just put it up as a WSO for each one?

And lastly, should I bother offering hosting (since the sites are already up) or not?

I did some comparisons for the values of the sites, most of them range from $10 (LOL) to $400 depending on the site.

In the past I had plans for all of these sites... just you know, never got around to doing it, and I'm not sure if its really worth spending time to get a blog active on each one.

There's at least 37 I'm thinking about getting rid of, and have been paying the renewals on most of them for 1-4+ years. Kinda figure its worth getting even some of the yearly $ back rather than just give them up.

Unless you guys think its better TO do the WP thing?

and others. A few are focused on keywords with "viral", "recipes", "weight loss", "success", and MLM.

Frustrating thing is, my mind does "whir" on ideas for them, it's just time I don't really have.

Hi Amber, you don't have to do a WSO for all of them...you can just post one
ad and list them all and what you want for each one.

For just domains, you don't really have to worry too much about providing a lot of details other than who the registrar is, and when they expire.

If they were full sites, the more info you can provide the better: approx. income, monthly unique visitors, page rank, etc.

Thanks, yeah, I was thinking that with the WSO (putting them all in one and let people choose).

lol - traffic wise they each only get maybe 30-40 visitors a month, not a heck of a lot, but considering I really don't do anything on them (most are literally just parked), that's not bad. But as you said, I'm only selling the domain names, not any content or lists.

I was looking tonight at some of the "website worth / domain value" type sites - it was definitely interesting.

I compared about 5 or 6 different sites. Not sure how they base their values on, but it was pretty funny to a point. Several sites said my biggest site was worth $80-$107,000... (pretty steady range).

But two were hysterical. One said that same site: $4,465. (ROFL). That's a huge difference.

And another one? Said it's worth over $700,000!

Too funny. (No, obviously that one isn't for sale at this time

But some ranked higher just based on keywords in the domain names which was interesting too, even with minimal traffic, some were worth as much as $168-$4000.

I suppose I can see why people do this regularly! (I just don't have time)

Just do one WSO with all the domains listed. Sounds like the actual sites on them are pretty worthless, but some of the domains may sell, particularly since some of them have age.

lol - yeah, I thought the same thing ~giggle~.

Seriously though, I just went through and decided on 31 of my domains and got the range value/suggestions, checked the traffic, alongside keyword values etc.

Has anyone had *good* success at flippa? Do the domains "have" to have much traffic to sell or do people buy there for keywords too?

With 31 domains (and its $19 per listing)... that's $589. I'd spend it if I knew its really practical.

Anyone got suggestions or tips for flippa? (Or is another site better?)

I'm going to do a WSO for some of them first to give warriors first shot, but want to prepare for whatever doesn't sell.
