i am just starting to learn wp so dont be suprised at the caliber of this question
how do i make my homepage static (not changing and updating) ?

    Easy, you go into the settings of your wordpress page and go into reading. Then you can click the radio button for static page and select the page you want static. That is all it takes.

      i dont see a page called home, but its on the nav menu, this is the page i want static is this possible?

      im using a default thesis theme

    First step is to create a page you want to use as the home page. It's also a good idea to make a page to hold your blog posts, unless you don't plan to use that feature.

    After you've created the pages you go into your Settings and choose Reading. You'll see "Front Page Displays" with a couple of radio buttons and combo boxes. Select "A static page" and choose the page you created for the Front page with the combo box. You may also point the Posts Page to the one you setup for your blog.

      thank u for guidance but im still not following
      i want the home link in the nav menu to direct to my static page? and there is not a way to make home static???
      and i do want another page for blog posts

      thank u
      the only problem now is i cannot delete the default "home" in the nav menu so i have 2 "home" am i doing something wrong
      in the thesis theme
