Contacting Marketers! I'm Tired ... :@

Hi all.

Letting off a little steam here! Sorry.

I am currently in the process of contacting marketers who I deeply respect for a joint venture opportunity on my brand new product Resource Report Profits .

I never realised how difficult it would be to try and get in contact with these marketers.

Firstly, I go to their website only to find that some of them don't have a contact email / support desk. Unbelievable, as I thought this was standard practice?!

After failing to find any contact info on their website, I go to Whois their domain. No luck there which is understandable as I can completely see why they make their details private.

My point is that I can't believe how deep I have to research to get something that should be freely available! I don't know about you, but I would tend to stay away from a website without a form of contact.

Do you come across the same problem or am I just blind?

Warm Regards,
Tom Mansell.

I guess really successful marketers are always very busy with JV offers flying in from every corner.

How about sending private messages through warrior forum?

      Hi Samuel,

I can understand that. But that's not the point I am making. I was just saying how surprised I was at how many leave out the contact information on their pages. In my opinion, the most important bit!

True, but if a contact email wasn't on a sales page I still wouldn't purchase.

I'd just ask myself all the questions as to why no contact information was on the sales page in the first place.

I have approached a number in the way above and it is by the least ineffective way I find.

I am still shocked though as to how many fail to product contact info.

    Warm Regards,
    Tom.

Even if their contact info was on the page do you think they actually check it? You have to talk to people you know etc... to eventually get the contact info you need. Then you have to do something to stand out like send them a package in the mail instead of an email.

        Hey mate,

Ultimately your going through the 'cold emailing' routine. If they don't know you, they'll be more inclined to skip over your email.

Mike has it to the T. The only marketers I approach are the ones I personally know. Most of these more personal relationships started through this forum, so I believe you can do it too.

Even with this topic... but I wouldn't use this topic... maybe your next couple. PM them and say thanks for the post. See where some similarities between the two of you could help create a 'relationship'. Asking them small questions they can answer in 1 or 2 lines... and being thankful for their response. The next time you contact them to chat on skype etc they will be more inclined to do it as they will (hopefully) remember you. (I feel it is good to reply to the first PM you sent as they will most likely remember the title).

Another problem could be that you're 8ish days out from the launch. A lot of marketers here run on a schedual so they may be unable to fit a promo in on such short notice.

If you are looking to contact some big playerz you'll need to back it up with some conversions, average amount per lead etc. If they see that they will make sales from your product then it is more likely they'll accept. So if you have no stats before your launch then it would be better to approach them when you do.

Successful marketers have already set up the method they prefer to be contacted. You are attempting to contact them in a way many before you have also attempted and these marketers have closed that door.

They do not want to be contacted that way so they closed the door. If you want JV partnerships then go and google JV Partnerships and you will run smack into the very marketers you were attempting to contact the other way.

    Hi Tom

I agree with you about the fact that all marketers should have contact details on their sites etc, but can I pick up a point you've made about contacting them re a JV

These people get 100's of these requests a week, I'm by no means a guru of any sort (nor do I play one on TV), but I get a ton of these requests every week myself.

You may think you have the best product since sliced bread, but "gurus" have seen it all before. They are also probably booked up with JV requests months in advance.

I personally rarely JV with someone unless I'm approached by a JV broker or someone I know

Your best best is to JV with someone (at the moment anyway) lower down the pecking order and take it from there

    Hope that helps

    Kim

    Hi,

I am in no way shape or form one of the "successful" marketers you are talking about trying to contact.

Having said that I get an average of 10 or more requests for JVs a month. I get I get at least that amount of requests to review and give testimonials for products. and on top of that I get around 20,000 other emails a month.

Now that's me, a nobody. I can only imagine the thousands upon thousands of Private Messages and emails some of the "successful" marketers get.

Sad to say, depending on which side of the fence you are on of course, they don't really need to get that email offering them your/my latest and greatest JV offer. Also they are not interested in the sales they miss they are only interested in the sales they make. It's a numbers game.

@ Kim. Yeah I completely understand what you mean. I am building the relationships with the marketers lower down the order (no disrespect.) I am not even going to try and bother contacting the big guns at this stage in my marketing career.

@ Samuel. Twitter seems to be working pretty effectively for me. Although the character limit on direct messages is very short. Have you had much success with it mate?

@ Daz. Hearing you loud and clear mate. Already there. :-)

But seriously, you have to offer your worth to these JV partners otherwise they won't look at you twice. Really sell yourself to them. That's what I have found anyway.

@ George. I think you are being quite modest there buddy. I would snap you up as a JV partner of mine in an instant. Same goes with Kim. You two are respected members of this forum and a huge benefit to anyone's campaign.

@ Martin. Not at all. Your sites look great and you're a regular contributor to the best internet marketing forum. I certainly would'nt regard you as a nobody. Far from it.

What I see you saying is that you're upset that you can't abuse someone's contact information. If it were on the website, it most certainly wouldn't be there for JV proposals. It would be there for product support and presell questions.

I can easily contact 95% of the "gurus" with one little trick I know.

Abuse? How is sending one polite e-mail being abusive?

Most of the support desks I have come across relating to particular products have departments for JV proposals.

No I am not upset. Just raising a point that I thought contact information on websites was standard practice?

And where did I mention contacting Gurus? I am just contacting every day marketers offering to partner up so we can help each other.

I agree with what he's saying about sites that want to sell me something but offer no contact information prior to buying. I have passed on buying products that sounded good because I had a question that couldn't be answered first.

          Hi Tina,

I deeply respect some of the small posters on this forum because of the small, yet extremely useful content they provide. They don't have to be huge marketers to be respected in my eyes.

This post was really about the point that some of the marketers I have come across do not offer contact addresses on their sites which I thought was a little out of the ordinary.

Is there not legislation that all websites have to have a valid contact address? I am pretty sure there is a law in the U.K regarding this?

          Warm Regards,
          Tom.

I too was searching for a JV with some of the exact same marketers that I review on my site, I have also found it extremely difficult to contact them. I did receive some emails from some of their staff members with instructions about how to attempt a JV offer to them. I got absolutely no response from about 80% of them. I emailed them from the same emails that I receive as their subscriber.

Some of those emails were not functioning and I was notified. Mostly, I never received any emails that they can't receive emails at that email address, just simply didn't get a reply apparantly. I may have not come across the best way or whatever but I at least expect a reply for 2 reasons.

1.) Because I am their subscriber and I had a legitimate question and potential to help them as much as they helped me.

2.) Because it leaves a bad taste in peoples mouth when they do NOT receive any type of correspondence. Even an automated email letting me know that they received my email would be nice.

Either way, I am sure that they receive many emails and I may have gotten lost in the shuffle so I will persist and see what happens.

Also, if you're interested in a JV of any kind, please PM me and I'd be open for almost anything and let you know what I have to offer as well. Thanks and good luck.

    Sincerely,

    Craig Raphael

    Hi Tom,

One of the best ways to get JV's with other marketers is to work with them in some way - Once you've done a little work together and they're impressed with your work ethic, you've got your foot in the door...

The Warrior forum is a great place to find people to work with, you can form some fantastic partnerships here.

But be warned... There are marketers who will squeeze you for every ounce of your ablility and never reciprocate!

I must say I do answer people who send me JV requests even if its to say no. (I even say yes on occasion lol)

It may be more worth your while contacting a JV broker, now they are in contact with everyone lol

    Cheers

@ Craig. I completely agree with those two points you have listed there mate. Sure, I can understand these folks are busy. But if you are contacting these marketers (who you are a loyal subscriber of) then surely they should at least merit you with some form of response. But from their point of view, I can understand how e-mails can get lost or not replied to. They get hundreds!

@ Colin. Hi mate, how's it going? Yeah I know what you mean. I've been going round for the past year offering my Minisite services. That's a foot in the door at least. I have no problem what so ever helping those who help me. I love doing it.

@ Kim. JV brokers are great and I am looking to start contacting them. I have the funds to invest as well so I may as well give it a shot. I wonder if you would say yes to my JV LOL? Only kidding.

@ Mike. First off Mike. CBPayDay, well done! Great product. Something I have really looked up to over the last few months! I was going to do that with the Send a Ball thing that I saw mentioned on here but decided against it for reasons that Nathan has put forward. I may re-think.

@ Nathan. I know the launch is soon, my aim was to contact 21 days in advance (which is still not really enough time) but everything has just moved so quickly. This is my first proper launch that I have really gone all out on, I guess I will learn from my mistakes. But I completely agree with what you say about the conversions :-)

    Thanks everyone for the posts!

    Warm Regards,
    Tom

I've sent handwritten letters to 15 top IMers - just a simple note thanking them for some bit of information that I've found valuable. Every single one has replied with an email. What happens next is up to me.

While I understand that you'd like it to be easier, it's certainly not hard. Put in a little effort and you'll see results.

I think that everyone posted some really valuable comments.

I just wanted to say that , Tom, this is work and if you expect it to be easy then you are in for a surprise.

The twitter comment was one of the best i think since twitter does seem to burst many of the regular barriers.

Usually I don't even bother with the so called big names and instead make JV proposals to those who are on my various lists.

A lot of marketer's forget their list(s) for this purpose, not remembering that many on their list may have lists also.

Your lists should be your first choice because you already have a relationship with them and you will further build that relationship with trust and reciprocity by offering them a JV opp.

My main focus has long since stopped being about the Guru's and is more about the marketers with whom I have more in common with, ie. not making a million a month.

Think about it like this, your lists can be broken down like this:

      Leads list
      Customers list
      Affiliates list
      Long term customers list
      JV Partners

With such resources, you will never truly have to search for traffic, promotion methods or JV partners again.

Now having said that. Thanks for contacting me Tom and I'm sure that this product launch will be very lucrative for everyone involved as well as helpful to many marketers and newbies looking for a different and more precise method to make online income.
