Clickbank statistics wrong?

I have had my clickbank affiliate link up for about 4 months now.

Everything was fine at the beginning, when i checked my analytics reports, I had 1-3 hits per day consistently.

Now days, I check my statistics with ID tracking and I get weird numbers..
I had put my links up on a new website with new tracking IDs- I don't know if that's the problem? This past month or so I've been getting ridiculous number of hits like 495 and even 1000s hits in 1 day.....And my site only gets like 40 visitors per day, so obviously its wrong....

Did anybody have this kinda of thing happen to them? Do you know why this is?

1000 hits a day sounds like yahoo or google bots indexing...

Seroiusly, check AWStats...usually the bots at work. You can block 'unknown' bots. Ask your host how to do it.

If you have your domain on cpanel you can look at where the traffic is coming from and it'll tell you the names of the bots crawling your site. If there a alot of hits from 'weird' named bots (ie not Google or the biggies) you can block them.

Try support on your hosting, any decent host should talk you through it or do it for you.

Do I have to check my host? because I check google analytics and the statistics there are completely fine and seem accurate... This particular site is on wordpress.... could it be that it comes from Wordpress spam?

Nope...its not traffic. Its bots. Analytics ignores them. However they follow links and sites that track the links count them.
