Some of the best ideas i have put into place is thru perry Marshall - the adwords guide, he is a proactive marketer. James Martell in the old stuff helped me learn about internet marketing. However of the best methods i have ever used to grow my business was direct mail thru Troy white- Merry Christmas Warriors

Sites that I have set up and promoted based on Steven Wagenheim's Niche Research Revolution packages consistantly make money for me.

Taking action on "stuff" I have learned in Don and Jeremy's bootcamps has also put cash in my pockets.

7 Steps to Freedom, in the 80's and then...
7 Steps to Freedom II: How to Escape the American Rat Race, in the early 1990's.

By Benjamin D. Suarez

These were the first books that exposed me to direct mail and mail order. They also helped me start my own mail order business back in the late 80's, out of my bedroom.

When I first got online, in 1995, and realized you could do email marketing for ZERO dollars, I literally couldn't sleep at night. Would lay awake till 2 or 3 am in the morning.

Other than that, I pick up some solid stuff from many marketers that I am able to add to my overall system.

Allen Says, Paul Myers and Jonathan Mizel had probably impacted my online business the most. And I mean in terms of actual dollars earned.

There are others too that I've learned bits and pieces from which I incorporated into my business and saw an increase in profits. Dan Kennedy, Gary Halbert, John Carlton, Harlan Kilstein, Kenrick Cleveland, John Reese, too many to list really. There are so many little bits of wisdom out there that when applied can make a huge difference to your bottom line.

Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays to everyone!

I started making money with Info Product Killer after having applied just a little bit of what's recommended in that product. I set up a 2 (yes two) page website and started earning money after a couple of weeks.

I have a video on YouTube about just how financially screwed I am, too. About how I lost my job at Microsoft, got evicted, moved to Oregon, and then my wife took the kids and left me. That was... what, six, eight weeks ago? Yeah, I've had one hell of a year.

I did an interview with someone earlier this month; maybe he'll pop up and confirm how I said outright that while I'd been making about $4k a month recently, I'd be lucky to bring in $2k this month.

Perhaps someone else can confirm that a couple months ago, I said I'd made about $15,000 from IM. Do the math on that; the last month has been pretty rough. In fact, I believe my total income over the past 30 days is just about $800.

I submitted a $4,000 invoice in mid-November. The client... didn't pay. Just flat-out didn't pay. That was going to be a good day, too. Biggest sale ever. A month's worth of income in a day. Product delivered, and I took a 20% deposit up front, too.

But he didn't pay. So I had to rush my product, which really wasn't ready to be released. I could have made more with that product if I'd done a proper launch, but I didn't have time. I needed that $4k so I'd have time to finish the product.

Am I having trouble? Well, yeah. And on top of it, my work conditions are pretty crap. The OP in this thread has ordered stuff from me that isn't ready yet, and should have been delivered on Monday. But I'm well screwed right now, and sometimes I get a little bogged down in it.

But I'm still here.

What about you? Would you still be here if you were this screwed?

Or would you have given up long ago and headed back into the rat race?

Ask Jason Moffat about that.

Hey Bro, great honest rant.

And sometimes being "screwed" ends up being a good thing.

Maybe it's just me...but I would rather do business with an HONEST dude living out of his car......then some Warrior hiding behind a "white picket fence of an avatar".....pretending that life is a friggin' rose garden 24/7 365.

I don't trust people like that.....I don't trust the "Jones Family" on any level.

CDarklock.....good luck 2 you'se brother. For real. And thanks for keeping it real.

And believe me...coming clean is a lot easier then playing the role.

That's why I come out and tell people the kind of baggage they get with me.

My year...much like yours....was like a rusty Hope Chest with a lost set of friggin' keys.

IRS up my ass.....chick I'm in love with marries some other dude.....smokin' two packs of Marlboro Lights a day now.....and back on the Jack on the Rocks....and while a lot of cash was made this year....it don't always buy happiness now does it?

And Ja Mo was homeless in Oregon. Trying being homeless in Salt Lake City, Utah.....like I was 15 years ago. It was impossible to buy a beer in that god forsaken city...even if you managed to hustle up the change.

With that said....life is good. As will yours be....for sure. The strength of the human spirit is rather remarkable.

This thread is so frustrating. After reading the entire post, no one added anything of value. It seems to me that everyone makes money trying to sell others products to make money.

Hi my friend I understand your frustration but actually the original post was all you need to know. That you can learn how to make your own product here, you can even sell it here, and you can create a list from here!

I don't know what you mean by value because people are answering a specific question honestly.

Someone mentioned Bum Marketing and I agree with I first came across Travis's site it opened my eyes that you don't always have to spend money to make money.

Alot of times the really successful marketers become that way because they see things differently. With different eyes.

You see nothing of value here and I see plenty!

Many times we have to give up looking for the step by step and just try something that has worked and attack it from another angle with a little of our own creativity.

There are some people making money teaching people how to train their dog.

Once they make money there is always someone who wants to know how you did it...so that type of making money product is always a logical option ..you will find that out when you experience some major success.

But to start out...offer a better way to do something that people already do and you should have a winner.

If you want to find out how to make money on twitter..become a twittermaniac....find all you can on the subject and do not allow yourself to become distracted by "the latest greatest" unless it has to do with twitter.

That is the mindset we have to have sometimes.

You don't see the value because, most likely, you have such tunnel vision
when it comes to business that it's difficult to see past the "make money
online" niche.

So let's take Travis Sago's Bum Marketing Method, which you can actually
learn for free from his site.

The simplistic approach is like this.

1. Find a niche that has a problem in need of a solution, such as health,
debt relief, self improvement and so on.

2. Find or create a product associated with that niche to sell to people.

3. Write articles about the problems in the niche and submit them to
article directories, using a call to action resource box to get people to
your landing page where you pitch the offer.

As you can see, this has NOTHING to do with selling "how to make money
online" products. It is selling solutions to countless problems using a
very effective AND free method.

Now, you can get a lot more involved with the method itself, such as
branching off into list building and even offering bonus incentives for
people to buy from YOU.

But NONE of this has ANYTHING to do with "making money online."

You need to see past the blinders that you have on and realize that
there are more ways to make a living online than just to sell "how to make
money" products.

If you need proof of this, just look at sites like Amazon dot com.

I bought a small $19.95 mail order product from Jeff Paul over a dozen years ago called, "How to Make $4,000 Per Day Working From Your Kitchen Table in Your Underwear." The backend was a $500 deal. I also picked that up and set about following the instructions. Within 12 months we were doing six figures from home via direct response marketing. Later we migrated to the internet and started a custom hosting business that did multiple six-figures within 2 years.

I always jump into these things late. Anyway, as per usual, I have a completely different opinion than nearly everybody.

Over the past few months I've gotten to know a lot of people - people who make so much money it quite literally blows my mind.

These people make what Frank Kern, John Reese, etc look like nothing.

They all have one thing in common. They all started the same way. They started with little to no knowledge, they just kept trying, tracking, testing, and re-peating until they finally got it.

They knew PPC involved paying for clicks - nothing else. But since they didn't bother going to forums, buying products, etc they had no other choice but test, track, and keep trying and let me tell you that they'll tell you it was the best choice they've ever made.

We all have a fear of jumping into something unprepared. Jumping into something and failing - but truth be told we are all going to fail when we jump into a certain area a few times because no real e-book can prepare you for the random twists and turns your online journey takes.

Clearly I'm not one of those guys who started off, right out of the gate, testing, tracking, and trying. My post count is really getting up there - but I'll be the first to agree that when you get your ass off of every forum you partake in you will succeed.

I have bought my fair share of products - and some have genuinely helped in at least helping me to understand what certain things are. (SEO, PPV, etc, etc.)

But I've also talked, and chuckled with a few so called "gurus" about the sheeple who buy their latest $97 product packed full of useless, old, regurgitated, methods. Like it or not this is the reality of the situation - want to know why 99% fail? Because the information is terrible. And in the information age where information is the single most valuable commodity that is something you desperately need.

The guru's have really carved out the internet marketing niche as if it's something totally ground breaking. Is it? Of course. But why SO many people fail is because they fail to understand the fundamentals. They fail to understand marketing at it's finest.

Everyone needs to understand what turns the brick and mortar world round and how they can apply it online - that is how you can succeed. (Buy Dan Kennedy stuff.)

It seems everyday we hear, "Oh this is the best time to jump into internet marketing!" but guess what it isn't at all. Traffic sources dying, tighter regulation, algorithm changes, etc it all adds up to a lot of headaches and if you don't treat what you do like a business, if you don't re-invest and market and work your ass off like you would offline you're going to fail.

Relying on one thing is dangerous. Imagine starting to bank $300/day profit on Adwords, which seemed like all the money in the world, and then having Google slap re-bills to s.hit - welcome to the fall.

All it takes is one new rule to kill your "stable" income when you rely on making your income from simply another company (Google).

To answer the original question:

- I spend 70 bucks on UAW every month.

- I spend 30 on this blog commenting thing that's hosted online I pay someone overseas to do every now and then. (Could go without it as it's not that effective but whatever.)

- I spend, much more then I'd like to publicly admit, on outsourcing. Everything from link wheels to wiki link wheels to copy for some landing pages.

These are my basics. I'm not subscribed to any newsletters anymore, no e-books, membership sites, etc. All the money I pay makes me money back - that's what the key is.

People will knock what I've said. Some may say you need to understand the basics - and that's fair enough. Buy a few e-books telling you what the area you're interested in involves. But after that, after you understand the core, do your own thing test, track, and keep trying. (You'll learn so much more that way.)

If someone making serious money wants to step forward and tell me that buying the latest over hyped guru product was the best choice they've every made then be my guest.

...

On a side note this is also something I've been thinking about. (And Andy's original post just reminded me of it.)

So many people get wound up in the online world and forget about the offline world. Like it or not we are all paid in USD, unless you're in EU based CPA networks, and like it or not the United States is in some real trouble.

Don't want to make this a political thread - but when we have so many liberal laws coming through, when we have the government tightening it's grip on everything and trying to control the forces of the free market, bad things will happen.

And the implications of this affect all of us. (Where ever you live.)

Chances are, if your like the average IM'er, you don't spend all your money. You recognize that traffic sources die, you know you can go from making a few million a month to nothing with one rule change.

Sitting on currency is dangerous and what is even more dangerous is not knowing how volatile it can be. Not here to give any advice, just saying think about the money you're sitting on and where it should be placed.

I enjoy coming to the forum - I'm not knocking it. I wouldn't have taken the past half an hour of Christmas to write this if I didn't care about this forum, whether I like it or not without meeting people when I first started like Ron Douglas I would've given up long ago. But what people have to realize is that methods come and go, fundamentals like SEO or PPC stay.

Understand the fundamentals and success will come easy. Test, track, and keep trying and one day you'll look at your Clickbank, CPA, whatever account and you'll see money and that'll be all the motivation you need to keep on going.

I haven't yet bought an information product or course that I could say has really worked super well for me. I've pulled out some handy bits and pieces but nothing to write home about. The really effective info products are tricky to find, with every person's experience level and goals being so different.

What has worked well for me has been more practical purchases. Big Mike's SocialBot has made money for me, as every site I have applied it to has made good affiliate commission and then been flipped for a good amount. The other item that falls into this category is the paid version of OnlyWire. I use both in tandem and results have been great.

I have also purchased some modules from the WP Robot suite, and those have made commissions for me also.

Apart from that, as has been said already, the War Room is the best set of information I have purchased access to, when measured by how much I have earned from it.

Most Information products hold value at some level, the biggest problem is like money itself a report is inert.

A report itself can not think, it can not act, it can not initiate or commence a workable business plan, in reality any report can not do anything. Only you can do that.

Many people buy a report thinking that this is the one that will make me rich, it does not, so they buy another one and surly this one will make them rich.

The story goes on and on, then there come a time when the penny drops for some where they see every report they ever purchased held at least one key to success and the missing link was that they themselves simply did not turn the key to the on position and as a result nothing was ever started and the mind numbing circle of buying the next money making ebook continued.

Jim Edwards - purchased his 7-Day ebook in 2003/04 as one of my first IM info-products. Thought it was marginal at first, when it said things like "For today, just write!". Anyway, I used that combined with some prior knowledge that I had and developed my first ebook that is still selling today.

Jimmy D. Brown - I followed Membernaire to a tee and it makes me great month every month.

Jason Fladlien - used his 48 hour report product to write a report that sells today.

From what I see, its all about your tools not buying multiple products. The basics are traffic>> landing page>> offer for affiliates or building a high traffic website with content. But it really comes down to having the best tools for whatever it is your want to do to make you money, and of course trying things and taking action.

Hey Vince..this one is nice bro..

Most of the time things work our way when we're pressed against some of the biggest challenges in our lives. On the point of fighting or giving up..some of us moves on despite the dangers and problems still facing us..and then like a stroke of miracle, things move our way..Human spirit prevails.

As to the OP..

I can't think of a single one product that allowed me to work online fulltime..

It's a consolidation of several things I learned and most of them came from actual experience.

I'm a great fan of info products some I buy for additional knowledge some as reference for possible future projects but I can't really pinpoint one that
made me instant money right after I bought it.

I think Andy is asking for products that will make you money right after
buying it..in which case I would say PLR's and MRR's would probably do
the trick..

All the best warriors

It was not anyone's stuff that made me money.

I made a fortune becase I had an offline business that was making money and I moved it online many years ago. Then I sold it.

For the last few years I do my own products, both digital and physical.

But there was no "system" or stuff that has made me money.

It is understanding marketing as well as seeing opportunity and acting on it.

However there are definetly people who have influenced me.

Bill Myers was a huge influence, but I did not sell his products.

Ironically the biggest influence was a free seminar that I went to for a place that I think was called "Stores Online" or something like that.

It was day long seminar and out of it I got one fantastic idea from it. I never signed up or believed their pitch...

But that one idea is one of the foundations of my IM business model.

I do not sell affiliate products or have affiliates for my product.

I have however had people design affiliate sites for others, just so I could help them out. But the product they were trying to market was their idea, not mine.

You will make more money controlling your product, in my opinion.

But what works for me, may not work for you.

Wish you all the best.

I am not here to sell anyone, anything.I am here to learn and to help others.
That is all.
Detach from outcomes and you own the world.

I have made money with IM every month since I started in 2007. Something to think about, I used my IM skills on my girlfriend's Real Estate Business. She has been one of the top agents in her office for the past year and one half. Once you master Internet Marketing, you can apply it to retail and offline business as well.

Great thread Andy. All too often products are sold, there's artificial scarcity, and the program is closed before anyone can come forward to say if they've made money or not.

XRay Domination stands out for me. Cost about $2500 but has returned 100x that to the bottom line.

A recent purchase, Linking Loophole is demonstrably making me money by single-handedly improving the SEO positions of numerous websites.

Products I use all the time, and thus are something I consider to indirectly be making me money, include SubmitEaze and a couple Incansoft Titles: GFX Writer and RSSBot.

Connecting income to a specific product can sometimes be difficult - as compared to building up general knowledge. The best general knowledge I've read is from Allen Says, Terry Dean, Frank Kern, and Dan Kennedy.

Using Kevin Riley's Low Hanging Fruit I made my first sale.

I've made money using the Conduit Method coupled with the HTML templates from Chris Rempel.

Earnt with Jimmy D Brown's Short Report Profits then his Affiliatenaire ($27 monthly) got me started with affiliate bloging but Jason Parker's 'Speed Affiliate Marketing' took it to another level again.

All are relatively low-ticket items (or were when I bought them - Speed Affiliate Marketing has rocketed in price).

Now that I have systems in place just watching top affiliates like Jit Uppal and seeing what others do, being curious helps me more than anything else.

I have bought dozens of WSO products. None of them have made me money directly simply because I havent applied any of the techniques as described. Having said that, my IM knowledge (due to the WSO products) has increased 10 fold.

Surely I can search the web and find the same information for free. However, who has thousands of spare hours to do that. By buying the products, my time is reduced significantly.

I 100% disagree. I use the library and bookstores - and there is easily TONS more timely, specific, useful, and immediately more practical information in the Warrior Forum and 'Internet Marketing" products I've purchased.

I would say that two people I have learned from and personally made money from their products are Travis Sago and Casey Gentles. The ironic thing is that I did not pay money for either of these products, they were both free reports for getting on their lists. I am still fairly new to IM, making a couple hundreds monthly. Howevever, I am confident that I will crack the four figures per month barrier very soon.

I agree/disagree.

Agree as far as marketing fundamentals specific to internet marketing and the like (found in the War Room for example).

Disagree as far as using physiology and marketing to the herd mind (about 80% of Frank Kern's model) which has been marketing principals long before the internet even existed.

Me too.

But apart from that, it's been from books:

Dan Kennedy's Ultimate Sales Letter
Cashvertising - Drew Eric Whitman
Tested Advertising Methods - John Caples

And funnily enough, I've learned more from free resources (perhaps because I don't buy as much as I read free stuff), such as:

Micheal Fortin's blog
Gary Halbert's wesbite
Chris Rempel's blog
Allen Say's Warrior Forum

There's more, but those are prominent ones.

Most of my learning is indirect. I'll consume content and store it away for the winter. I used to love being on John Reese's monthly newsletter...that was killer content and worth every penny.

Ok, gotta throw my 2 cents in too.

For me, I've done a lot of the course/wso and such. I wanted a well rounded education and I find that a lot of warriors do have something to give.

But what was the best of the best?

Just taking action! I am making on average about $50 per day in multiple revenue streams and I'm going to be bumping that into overdrive this year to make $500 per day.

Won't take much. I've tried various things and found a few things, by simply taking action, that have proven to me that I can earn $500 per day without breaking a sweat!

So, there is no one course for me. It's been the university of internet marketing and a ton of risk taking!

So, no self promotion on the go, just a good old testimonial.
(Even removed my sig line as proof!)

Cheers and good luck to all!!

A couple of years ago when I was just starting to dabble in IM I came across BANS (Build A Niche Store). $97 was a huge investment for me back then, put it has paid off tremendously. I don't build ebay aff sites anymore because EPN sucks, but those sites I built continue to bring in cash each and every month... for now. I probably just jinxed myself ;-p

More recently, and without sounding too spammy because they are going through a relaunch of their product and I am promoting it as an affiliate, is Niche Blueprint. I bought the course in Jan. 2009 and I built successful ecommerce stores following their program.

Other than that, reading XFactors adsense thread on this forum has also opened a couple more doors for me and boosted my adsense income. That is probably the most informative thread I have ever read. It has a permanent spot in my FireFox bookmarks ;-)

A lot of infoproducts, services, and software have made me money. I'm going to list the top few since they have accounted for more than half my profits:

Frank Kern and Ed Dale's Underachiever Course - No longer on the market, but I've added my own twists to it. I went DEEEEEP with this bad boy and scaled it up like a mo'fo.

John Reese's original Traffic Secrets - I ran with this one when it first came out and quadrupled my income that year.

Perry Marshall's Adwords Course - Coupled with Traffic Secrets, it sent my PPC ROI through the roof. The most recent version that recently came out is a must read for anyone thinking of jumping into Google Adwords or PPC marketing.

More recently, Don & Jeremy's CPA Marketer's Bootcamp - Don't let it's simplicity fool you, it's a formula that works. I've got a fulltime VA that is dedicated to what is covered in that bootcamp.

I've made it a point not to buy that many infoproducts anymore other than a WSO here and there since my businesses have a very solid foundation already. Though I'm willing to admit that it's tough to resist some of the new stuff that's come out.

Andy -
Yes, I know what you mean about purchasing high ticket IM products. I must say - we've ordered and reviewed many! Very few of them actually did exactly what the "gurus" said it would do. Mostly exaggeration. Your best underground trainers if you can find them are "underground" and earn money from actually using Internet Marketing methods that work - but these guys are the hardest "gurus" to find.

With that said - we have earned significant amounts of income by using the right mentors. But you must know who they are.

There are many products that in an indirect way that have made me money but two things I must point out.

I read a lot of stuff in this forum and in print and on occasion will buy an eBook from a WSO but the bottom line is no specific system in any ebook has worked for my but my ability to assimilate everything from every info source is what has made me money. The warrior forum and war room being the two most influential sources.

More important in the last 2 years is buying and using tools and fully understanding the full potential of each tool to maximize my online marketing efforts. No one software tool is a magic bullet but when combined they are very very effective. Not all tools are purchased or software ... many are just well thought out systems created to leverage my time or ones that have been proven to work for marketers over the years.

I have purchased a few "make money" products in the past, but I can't say any of them were directly responsible for any portion of my income. I can say that I "cherry picked" a few good tips here and there though.

I don't buy them anymore, but I occasionally will grab a "make money method" WSO if it's from a respected marketer that does the exact same things I do (out of curiousity and/or to pick up a tip or two).

I have these forums, War Room, and a network of peers to get questions answered if I need them.

I will buy digital products that I KNOW will help my business in general though.

For instance, I bought a WSO that provided techniques on how to set up some headache-inducing php stuff. It was actually something I could have figured out myself, but it came with templates and a video that probably saved me 3 or 4 hours for $17. That kind of info I'll buy any time. It's not a "method to make money", but it's something that helped me add value to my business and saved me time (which actually = money in the long run). I knew exactly what it was, and that I needed it though, so making the decision to buy it was easy.

Cheers
Jay

To a certain extent most of what I've bought has taught me how to make money but didn't all make me very much. I believe the quality of products is the cause of this, many are just thrown together in order to make the person money which sucks because most of the products end up coming out looking the same.

Also many people have no idea how to teach judging by their style. An excellent recent example was Blog Payback, what a load of hypnotic crap that was. By hypnotic, I mean, the guy that created the produt either knew that the vast amount of crap in the product would make it worth it when it was really only way too much information. It could have been made a lot easier.

And to finalize that.. A lot of the crap people sell could be made a lot easier than what they make it but as I say "most do not know how to teach". They just think they do.

I want a good keyword researcher, not for min sites but for tech articles. Hit me up if you've got those skillz!

Kevin Riley#s stuff has already been mentioned, but I'll second that statement. I spent the best part of two years online struggling with affiliate marketing. I then discovered how to make my own products which was taught to me Kevin, and that was the first time I started to make consistent money, and it's a lovely feeling when somebody buys something you made yourself and they're happy with it.

NO OPT IN REQUIRED: Check the photo on this page!! p.s This was going to sell for $47, now it is free and you can even give it away as your own opt-in incentive.

I'm not sure what to say, I started a long time ago selling a friend's shareware products. I think it was due to an article in the London Times hyping up the launch of Windows 95, and it had a wee section on marketing software.
