Focus on getting more traffic to your website, offering a stronger lead magnet to potential subscribers, and then split test your form copy. It may seem simplistic, but those are really the key things to focus on...

Why dont you try offering a free report or something interesting your visitors may like to have, then make them sign up to the list to get it.

This is def a great method and if you do it right you can create long-lasting, lucrative relationships with others in your niche.

Too often people view other marketers in their niche as their competition. This is not a beneficial view. Many of the top marketers in the IM industry all work together, promote each other's stuff and make a ton of money!

Don't be afraid to go to Google and find other people in your niche that are building a list, then go to domaintools.com and look up their contact info.

With the subscribers you have you may not be able to get joint ventures right away; HOWEVER, make an offer to them and ask how much they would charge you to send out a solo e-mail to their list.

In that e-mail you should promote your squeeze page, making sure that your "lead magnet" or "thing you give away for free" is of very high quality and something you would sell for at least $27.

This builds a great foundation for having a positive relationship with the subscribers on your list.

look into what a sales funnel is if you dont have one. it will help cover your ppc cost

Why would paying for traffic make the opt in rate go up.?

For those wanting to build a list ... test your cap pages with free sources first .

Once you have them converting ... then go to paid advertising and make sure your slo has the abilities to at least make the paid clicks manageable .

i am reverse. i use ppc to find converting keywords then i look into seo with them

But would you not agree that your ppc skills are probably on a different level than the beginner list builder ?

Someone that has only 120 members to show for several months of building could have a traffic problem, they really probably do not even know their conversion rates .

Paid traffic will not convert any better than free traffic that has been targeted .

A ppc campaign that converts at 50% with a slo with a 2% conversion would pretty well make me say " why would I even look into seo"

While a seo campaign with a 50% conversion and a 2% converting slo would have me saying " time to ramp this thing up with a good ppc ."

I agree with Rick.

Other things you can try to do.. is do some JV with other blogs.

Try offering quality content to other blogs. Bring traffic to your
own blog.

Always offer free quality stuff and people will come to you.

Don't expect things to be fast. They will take a long time.

In the internet.. it's normally 10 visits - 15 visits - 30 visits
and it goes up. I never really see sites with 2000 visits to go
to 4000 visits (1 single day).. withouth some big thing happening.

Press Releases is also a very nice way of promoting your product.

Media Coverage has build up my blog back in Brazil about dating.

Yes, and believe it or not... that is a good thing. If success was that easy, it wouldn't be success anymore

. If it took a week or two to start making $1000/day with little work... EVERYONE would be doing it. This stuff works because it takes the effort and persistence of hard working entrepreneurs that are driven towards real success!

SLO. Meaning, you run ppc to a squeeze page, which collects emails and then sends to your offer.

In this process, you are making sales, however... income from sales just covers your cost of ppc ads. net profit =0

In effect, you are getting the email optins free !

Add some good PR links to your websites and target keywords to drive trafffic

Use a freebie .pdf eBook as a opt-in incentive and your list will grow much faster.

Keep in touch with your list, give free advise and offer specials that you can over deliver with.

You can try Social Marketing..

Try offering some of your best lead magnets on Twitter and see if the traffic subscribes to your list.

You can also place ads on Classfied ads sites.

I am just saying if they start from the free traffic test , they lose nothing but time if their page does not convert . If they go the ppc route with an untested cap... they stand to lose money as well as time .

We both joined the forum about the same time . I have read a lot of your post . it would still be my opinion that you know more about ppc than most new list builders .

I am in no way saying your way will not work... I am just saying I think you bring more to the table, ppc wise, than the average newbie list builder and that going ppc first for the average newbie will be a money losing experience .

You might want to devote one month of your marketing to building your list. Don't get me wrong, you can still do a little bit of other things but make the list building your priorty.

For how to increase you opt in subsriber, do more of the current strategy you are using. It seems to be working.

Article marketing,online classifieds, blogging are a good way you would want to consider too.

Instead of a month , devote all your time to building a list .

Let the autoresponder do the relationship building, the up sale , down sale , the back end promotions .

Set the autoresponder up right and all your job will be is to drive traffic to that cap page .

Offer a free report or a video ecourse of your niche then set it up over an Opt-in Light Box that'll pop up to first time visitors in your homepage. But, make sure you'll not have it popping up onto the other pages as well.

  Congratulations on building 120 subscribers. Really, it's better to build few hundred responsive subscribers than buying leads. I've seen a lot of people posting threads here about buying email leads. Anyway, you're on the right track. What you need is more consistency to take your list building to the next level. I noticed that you don't have a sig link? Put some sig link and be more active in this forum. Participate in other forums as well.
  
  You can also participate in other blogs by putting your comments that will link back to your site/blog/squeeze page. You can also do some guest posting to some other blogs. Make sure to provide quality content.
  
  I am consistently adding 7-12 subscribers per day, I know it's not that many compare to other online marketers where they can add 100-200 a day. But you do the math, how many will you have in a month adding 7-12 a day. I only do the free methods like:
  
  1. Put at least 10 posts in 5 forums a day.
  2. write and submit at least 3-5 articles per week.
  3. Blog commenting to 40 blogs a day.
  3. Guest post 1-2 times per week.
  
  Just be consistent on those methods and you will see a steady flow of subscribers coming to you every day. I haven't done ad swaps yet, but once I hit the 1,000 subscriber mark, I will start doing it and it will exponentially grow my list.
