Wordpress question re quasi-memberships
If you want to set up a WP site with different "levels" of membership, there's a way to do it using "roles".
What I'm wondering is how to go about setting up a kind of "preferred customer" program that's like a membership program, but it's free.
That is, people can go to the site and register and gain access to some material.
But through other marketing channels, I want to publicise a different signup page, or some kind of promotional code to use, that will effectively give them a different "role" automatically so they can get expanded access to materials on the site.
IOW, I don't want to have to manually "upgrade" them once they've signed up.
An alternate example is where you'd have multiple interest areas on a single WP site. Someone could opt-in to whichever ones they wanted and get access to those areas, but not others.
