Has anyone else had this problem?

Hello Warriors. I need a code expert to help me with a problem. As I was reviewing my Google webmaster this morning, I noticed that one of my sites had 3000 + links. At first I was shocked and delighted???!!! Then as I started looking at the anchor text my delight turned to horror. I will never rank for my keywords with all of the totally irrelevant anchor text. After more research I have discovered that someone has buried hundreds of backlinks in my wordpress site. I do not know how they were able to do this but they have also done it to hundreds of other web sites. Is anyone willing to look at my source page and give me insight on how to get the unwanted backlinks off of the site and how to prevent further attacks.

PM me if you are willing to help.

Thank-you.

Charlie

If you got a free Wordpress theme they sometimes come with hidden links.

You can go through each file with the editor screen and do a "search" for "http:" start scanning your php files for any links that are not yours.

However, some of the "free" themes come with a condition that you leave the links in place.

If that is the case then look for another version of the same theme or look for a close match to your theme without the conditions.
