how to give away a free ebook or report to people who opt in?

I'm interested in giving away a free report and will need to provide a link to interested people who opt in, but I'm not sure how to do this. (I already have an autoresponder.)

Thanks in advance for your help.

    You have a few options

Option 1: place a link to the report on the "thank you" page for the optin. You would need to go into your autoresponder account and specify the download url in the form creation section. [thank you page url: http://www.yourdomain.com/freereport/ ]

Option 2: Have the "thank you" page be the report. [thank you page url: http://www.yourdomain.com/freereport/report.pdf ]

Option 3: Give the optin the report via a link in the first email of the autoresponder.

Option 3: Give the optin the report as an attachment in the first email of the autoresponder.

First upload the PDF to your host server. Then put the link to the upload in the autoresponder message. Like this: http://www.yourfreereportupload.com/specialreport.pdf

This will be a dead link but yours should look similar. Good luck.

Hi! If you're using Aweber, you can attach the file to the
first message in your autoresponder series.

If you are using double opt-in you probably don't want to give the report on the thankyou page as the person will not have confirmed by this point. You could either give the report on the confirmation page or in the first letter in your autoresponder series, sent out immediately after confirmation.

    Cheers,
    Suzanne

Simple: What are you using for a AR? I just attach the pdf on my first message and seems to be working fine.

There are two great ways to go about it

i am assuming that you are going to be offering them something for signing up in which case you can put on the oto page:

thanks for subscribing click here to download your free report and then link it to the pdf file or alternatively in the welcome email include the link there instead.

I find that not everyone will read the content properly so put it in both places.

    kind regards
