Aweber and Get Response Question

So i am going to sign up for one of these services but have a quick question. When you sign up can you make lists for multiple sites or does each site need its own account and monthly fee?

The autoresponders are a hosted service, you can use them for multiple sites since the AR's themselves are not site specific. You might want to be careful of how you name your main account though, using something generic that covers a multitude of possibilities.

generally speaking, you can have as many lists as you want under one account, but the price goes up as your total subscribers (over all lists) goes up

choose carefully. you'll be with the same company for a while! they're very sticky!

I'm using Aweber and so far I have 5 different lists in the same account. But there is a limited number of suscribers allowed on each list. When I pass this number I have to pay a little more for my account.........

I use both, but must admit that I prefer aweber. Maybe it's because I started with them and am more comfortable with their interface. Both have excellent customer service and I don't think you'd go wrong using either one. I believe they each have a free or $1 trial too.

I have only used aweber and have 30 lists. That many lists is hard to keep track of but its available for you.

The best part of aweber is 99% of the emails get into the Inbox.

    GetResponse.

With the API access, it can now run circles around Aweber features.

      Could you elaborate please?

What exactly can it doe that Aweber can't/won't?

And what about 1shoppingcart? Their autoresponder works really well too and is integrated with their shoppingcart.

Plus you have more flexibility with moving listmembers around -- and they won't charge more for your list members until you reach 10,000. I rather like them (and I have lists with them and aweber and would like to consolidate them at some point).

But tell me more about getresponse please.

      Thanks.

Out of the box GetRespnse doesnt do more than Aweber but since GetResponse has an API, you could get custom programming done and do more. Pretty much anything you would want.

        Great for future growth.

GetResponse also passes subscriber details when links are clicked which is great for personalization and tracking.

I recall configuring domain forwarding just before their big interface upgrade, and then that feature disappeared. When I contacted support, they basically said "we don't do that anymore; go to hell."

I'm sure their API is wonderful, but I would have a real trust issue with relying on anything unusual or distinctive in it. It might just not be popular enough to keep around.

You know, honestly, I've had both GetResponse AND ImnicaMail do the same thing: tell me that they don't have what I want and they might never have it, but please stick around and they'll see what they can do.

I use getresponse and it has been fantastic. Just create a webform and put it on any webpage you want. Just make sure to make a unique campaign name so that you can identify it.

    Cheers!

I've had both accounts. But, I have switched solely to GetResponse. there are a few features that Aweber has that I wish I had over at GetResponse, but all in all I'm very happy and satisfied.

From my experience it seems that there deliverability is the same.

I use Aweber but I'm moving away from them because for a list my size, the cost jumps from $50 a month to $130 a month. Get Response used to be better priced, but I just looked and now it's even higher at $145 a month (18% discount for paying for a full year though).

I started a thread about this a few days ago and got a few recommendations for other list hosts with better pricing. You might want to read that thread:
