Definitely www.easymemberpro.com (And though I used to own it I don't now so no affiliate status)

Anthony the new owner has made some awesome changes to it and it's brilliant for the newbie as it's very easy to use

Nanacast is absolutely crushing it. Dripfed membership content, secure download links & movie streaming with AmazonS3, integration with Authorize.net/Powerpay for 1 Click Upsells. If you're looking for an advanced solution...check out Nanacast. I'm thoroughly impressed.

Take a look at Memberstar: Membership Script | Membership Software.

It's best for the non technical person who wants to get an attractive membership site up quickly. It's also a breeze to administer and add content to. Disclosure: I have a financial interest in it.

I signed up for the Easymemberpro + hosting option.. here's my thoughts on it so far as promised.

Like the name suggests, it's easy. Took about a day for them to set up the site, and modifying the design to my liking is simple.

Once I'd changed a few options I found myself looking around the admin panel searching for 'something else', surely I hadn't of created a membership site so quickly? Surely there was something more complicated for me to get to grips with?

Nope. It was all done. My membership site is complete (apart from content of course).

The documentation is great, the customer support staff seem to respond to questions very quickly and the server they use for hosting is pretty fast.

For someone who is new to membership sites, this is the perfect option.

Whatever you choose, don't let price make your decision. But also don't overpay

I agree that easymemberpro is an easy, cost-effective way to get started. I also use amember and like that as well. Which software you ultimately choose, however, will largely depend on what you are trying to accomplish with your site/s.

Before choosing any software solution. You must decided on what you are going to use it for.

There are some software solution that will work fine that is very inexpensive but do not offer the content drip feature.

The main thing is to get it going quickly, you can always may changes on the fly once you have paid members that can fun the purchase of a more expensive fancier script (if needed.)

Because I'm with a company that has a membership/private social network platform created by George Tran (1shoppingcart), I was naturally attracted to your post and would recommend that you check us out! Send me a private message and I'll send you a link to our site. However because this is my first post (I joined today 10 minutes ago) I don't want to get accused of spamming, so if I have crossed the line please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Gary

I just heard today of one called 'WishList'. You can google it to locate the site.
It's not free but it looks like an excellent wp plugin. Good luck to you!

I had the same information overload your going through and sometimes still do with all the new membership scripts coming out,

However I have used amember for years and love it... I would recommend it as they continually upgrade and it support the ability to use pretty much every payment processor out there, it is fairly easy to install as well... So int he long run the best investment I made for a membership script was amember pro.

    hope this helps!
