Squeeze page in wordpress theme or it's own page

I just finished a mini niche site and am currently finishing the squeeze page. I have all my articles directed to the squeeze page and use wordpress to simplify everything. I have a optin form to the right on my wordpress theme.

I was wondering if you think its better to have my the contents of my squeeze page using the wordpress theme or give the squeeze page a page of its own. Straight up squeeze page, no columns, graphics etc. My squeeze page is going to be my main URL but Im generating all my traffic to my articles to send to main page.

    Hi

i find it works well when the blog is the home page and then the squeezepage is a single page on its own accessable from all the pages in the blog.

Ive had a lot of hits by doing it this way rather than it having the same theme as the blog as it looks so much better.

    kind regards

IMO, the less distractions the better.

One rule of copywriting for sales letters (should apply to opt in pages too)
is you don't want any links on the page leading to other sites. You don't
want to give your prospect a reason to leave your page.

However, both can work if you cleverly design things. In fact, many of my
blog articles have links at the end leading to opt in pages where they can
sign up for the relevant news letter.

I prefer the former over the latter but both with work.

Awesome. I was thinking not using the wordpress theme on the squeeze page would be the best option. I wasn't even thinking about eliminating the distractions a wordpress theme can bring. Thanks guys.

Definitely want a clean page for your squeeze page. The good news is that you can have both, there are some Wordpress themes that allow you to have one design for blog posts and another design for your static "Page" posts in Wordpress.

This means that you can have the standard blog columns look for your blog and have a static, single table design for your squeeze page.

Check out Jason Keith on the Warrior Forum, he has some I've used.

You can also refer to one you can use in the resource box below...

I create mine using Wordpress PPC Theme. It's very simple.

I even helped some customers setup their own.

Thing is, you would need to use the theme throughout the site. I'm currently working on some updates to add different "pages" with different looks.

I like a static landing page for my opt-in purposes

Then have the blog as an additional page

    Just looks nice to me
