What necessarily about Freelancing are you doing? Writing? Video? Web Design?

And how long do your articles need to be?

There really isn't a set amount that it should cost you. If you take a look at the Warrior for Hire section, you will find writers in a wide range of prices.

The best thing to do would be to take a look at the feedback they are getting, as well as any samples of their work. If they have some Warriors giving feedback, are they people you know or trust? Or are they all unfamiliar?

If you do some research into the writer before hiring, you'll have a better chance of being happy with the results.

Articles need to be on freelance design. But they can be on general issues to do with freelancing, such as:

      > How to Work at Home As a Freelance Writer
      > Charge What You're Worth As a Freelancer
      > 8 Strategies For Successful Relations With Clients
      > What it Really Costs You to be a Freelancer
      > Should Freelancers have an Elevator Pitch?

      etc

The articles need to be about 400 words long.

If you want truly "great" articles, probably on the order of $30-$50 each, at a minimum. If you really just need good, competent articles that cover the basics and don't have any mistakes (spelling, grammar, syntax, poor info), maybe $10-$15 each.

If you have the time and patience to clean up some cosmetic mistakes, you can get what I call "blah" articles written for about $5 each. Might be some newer Warriors here in the Warriors For Hire section that'll do 'em that cheap. If not, Elance will be overrun with the cheapos.

Often, you will get what you pay for when it comes to outsourcing article writing. Not always. I've gotten very good, well-researched articles written for ridiculously low prices by Warriors offering specials.

Look for quality. Quality might cost you more, but in the end it is a worthy investment to make. Watch out for those $5 articles...they tend to be poorly written, and in my view, you'd end up having to re-write the entire piece which would be a waste of time and resources.

Have to disagree with you on that one. I think $5 is the sweet spot for a lot of good article writers... Most of them are not trying to pull in 40k a year writing articles, but are college aged and looking to make extra money.

Just either check out sample articles first or place an order for a single article to test the waters.

Now $2-3 articles... $1 rewrites.. those are the ones you have to watch out for.

You definitely get what you pay for when it comes to quality articles. Don't get me wrong, I've had some ok articles written for $5 dollars each but the majority of them have to be edited, some even rewritten.

When I need more articles written I will be in search for a writer who provides me with work that I can use immediately.

Cheapest is not always best! You will find a wide range of prices when searching for a good writer. Try to choose someone who has lots of positive feedback and samples available for review. As others have said, the Warrior-for-Hire may be a good place to begin your search.

I dont know you have time for this or not, and i am certainly not trying to take away a potential job for any article writer(which i myself am one (not very good, lol), but you could always use plr articles and just rewrite them. Depending on your speed and other skills, you can pull of a brand new article from plr articles in about 15 min or so. Search Google and you can find plenty quality ones that you just have to subscribe to get them(use through away email if you dont really like getting email after email about new products).
Either way i wish you good luck.

We have also used some PLR articles. Although they tend to be low quality articles, you can still sometimes find some good quality ones as well. And they are cheap, you can get 40-50 articles for 10$
Rewriting is a key with PLR articles.

Look, what do you wish to accomplish for your self and your audiences using the e-book?

    That's exactly what matters.

If it's an e-book on SEO, you got to hire a writer with expertise in SEO.

The number of pages don't count. What is the value generated after reading your e-book that counts the most. Thus, you hire writer according to their expertise and not what their price is.

When you hire a writer, you must look in for a portfolio with samples that prove to you they are worthy of being hired.

See if they have a website or not. That will show you whether they are serious about being hired.

I write e-books & reports for clients my self. I think you must do adequate research about a writer before you hire them. After all, you want desired results from your e-book.
