The Most Popular Squeeze Page Has Been Updated

I was working on my squeeze page and of course I went over to DoubleYourDating to get some ideas.

Boy, I thought I typed in the wrong URL!!!

Has it just been changed or have I been living under a rock?

Anway, I'm off to study this little gem and see what the man's been thinking.

    Thanks for posting this Adrian

I've not yet looked at it too closely, but first impressions are that it's butt ugly!

If some newbie had posted this asking for a review I'm confident that most folk would tell him to go back to the drawing board and do something that looks nice. Where's the pretty pictures? There's just too much text and it's all in black and red - makes the thing look really cheap and tacky.

And even if you can get past that, it's not even a squeeze page, I mean, where's the opt-in box?

There aren't any testimonials and you're giving the reader far too many choices of products.

I think I could go on, but...

What the hell do I know? It probably converts at near 90% so you can disregard everything I've said and carry on making millions with your crappy looking site Mr DeAngelo.

    Peter

    Hi Adrian,
I've noticed those changes. I haven't looked closely, but it looks to me like he moved the squeeze page(s) from the home page. Home page has got many backlinks over time, naturally, and he's trying to take advantage of that for SEO. It does look like a content site doesn't it? Articles with decent content, SEO optimized headlines...

Good converting sales pages and squeeze pages are often bad for SEO. In fact, thinking about SEO there would be a bad mindset.

Here is one of the squeeze pages now:
Double Your Dating - “The Kiss Test”

and here is the sales page for the book:
Here's how to attract and date women, all in plain, easy to understand language.
Notice there is no order button on that page. There is a button to go to the 'next page' instead. Which is definetely 'training' people to click the order button on the next page on the next page.
Clicking 'next page' is very much like saying "YES", that's what you want your customer to say to you, couple of times on the sales page. Nice trick to ask them to take action at the right time, the first big "yes" is a warm up. I mean, what bad can happen if you go the "next page", right? It's a no brainer if you're interested. The next big "yes" is to give you credit card number for a free trial... Also notice how he surveys people on the order page itself.

Some teachers like Ben Hart would say this would be a good strategy to work with Google's recent changes on calculating quality score on landing pages.

Google's New "Quality Score" Might Cancel Your Business (no aff link)

Personally I think Ben has gotten a little carried away but we will have to see in the coming months.

In short - any Ad words campaign sending traffic to the new landing page (more like an actual website) will pay less per click than sending traffic to traditional one page landing page.

Plus natural SEO should improve also.
