Affiliate Vs Product Vendor

I've heard that being a product vendor is better then being an affiliate. Do you the warriors agree? Or is it a toss up?

I would agree, although doing both is probably the best way to go. If you can create your own products and also promote others then you have the best of both worlds.

Doing both is smart but can you make a living off of just promoting other peoples products?

Absolutely vendors make more just see they get sales from affiliate and build buyers list.

    Thanks,

What do you mean by "product vendor"? Being a reseller/retailer or working with a company that will drop ship for you? What kind of "products" - digital ebooks, software, physical products?

I'm referring to selling clickbank products and cpa products and being the owner not the affiliate.

Both of them have worked pretty well for me, so can't single anything out. There are pros and cons to both the models.

I would still prefer being as a product owner.

I have several products on CB and I've noticed
that only 30% of sales are generated from affiliates
links, 70% of buyers are buying directly from my
    websites.

Also, if you have your own products you can just
easily promote somebody else's products by adding
    your products as bonuses.

I agree with all who said that become a vendor is much better than affiliates. You know, affiliate basically work for vendor, and while these affiliates working hard, vendor rip the fruit.

Not to mention if someday vendors decide to close affiliate program, affiliate will out of business too, but vendor is not. That's the worst scenario. However, vendor is much better than affiliates.

And the fact is, most vendors started as affiliate first, so as affiliates, they know that become vendor is much more profitable.
