what is private registration at godaddy

I want to register for .info, they offer 0.89 usd , when I add private, they charge more usd 9 ++
I do not know should I take private or not, at namecheap the price is usd 1.99 with WhoisGuard

    It basically means that your registration are hidden from people 'easily' finding it. Basically helps prevent you from getting too much spam to your e-mail addresses, etc.

    No ... you would have to buy it at Godaddy for each domain. If you want private, your best bet is Namecheap. Just be aware that they will charge you in a year if you want to renew the WhoisGuard.

      This basically prevents other from seeing who owns the domain.

      What's good about it is that if people do a search and find you own the domain they may try to contact you for spam related business practices, (is, to try and sell you stuff or sevices...)
      I think it's wise to go private.
