I want to move my Domain or Not? Help Please!

Hi warriors,

I bought a domain at Domain.com and want that name with my hostgator account. Does it matter for SEO or anything else if I move my domain name to hostgator or I will use my existing domain and update my nameservers only? Or is the only difference the anual fee I would have to pay for my domain name?

I don't have a clue! Help

Cheers
Bjorn

For SEO it almost certainly doesn't matter who hosts your "domain name". But who hosts your site does matter due to your 'neighborhood' ie who else shares your server in shared hosting (eg they may dirty the shared IP address).

If you're happy with Domain.com then just keep the domain there and set the nameservers for HostGator.

I generally prefer not move my domain to the website host. If I have problems with the host I cna always upload a backup copy of my site(s) to a new host and switch the nameservers.

But if my domain name is held with the web host, they may prevent me fro moving it ... I'll be stuck.

There is very little chance of problems with a good domain registrar.

    I hope thi shelps
