I have my first .org domain. Since privacy is not an option, I would at least like to hide my phone number. Name and address is fine, I just don't want my phone number there. Any ways to hide it?

If you're with Namecheap you can use a
service called WhoisGuard. Ask your domain
registrar if they have something similar.

Another option could be purchasing an on-line
number with Skype and using that.

You'll also find some people make the number
up but I wouldn't advise that.

If you delete your phone number from your registrar profile it will be also gone in the domain whois..

I might end up having to get a cheap phone number somewhere. My registrar does not allow updating the contact information unless a phone number is provided. Is anyone aware of a registrar that allows a .org domain with no phone number listed? Moving it might would be cheaper than paying for a phone, I'll never use.

Whois privacy is not available on .org domains.

If you're really concerned about privacy, I suppose you could get an answering service, or perhaps a cell phone that you use specifically for handling Internet related inquiries.

The easiest thing to do is lie. The only info that must really be valid is the email address. Why because you will be contacted through it to verify that the info in the whois record is correct.
