What commission % to get you to promote a service?
I've been doing some looking around to see how much other IM services pay their affiliates. I'm talking about operational services, not information-based memberships, where there is a monthly subscription. I've seen rates as low as 10%, which seems awfully low, to 40% or even more, which is starting to get pretty high.
So my question is, how much does a service need to pay to make it worth your effort to promote? I'm assuming it depends on the service cost as well - let's figure on an average of $45/month.
For list owners, is it typical to get a better cut when you do a mailing to your list?
