Hello to all! This is my first post here which I am going to tell you that I made my first buck online. I actually made about $3.00 lol

About a week ago I wrote a review on a CD I recently "obtained" just for kicks on associatedcontent.com. I did PPV (pay per view) just for the hell of it and in a week I got over 2,000 views. All I did was write it and submit. And with their PPV program you get $1.50 every 1,000 views so yeah I banked about $3.00.

If I actually promoted this more maybe I could have gotten more? lol who knows. But I love this forum and hope to continue and learn from you all (and hopefully contribute in some way). I don't do this stuff full or even part time but am slowly getting my site up (web design/ job and full time college student) and plan on getting into some other things as well.

  Honestly, the time it takes me to listen to an album is how long it takes me. I listen to it and just write how I feel or how it sounds.
  
  2,000 visitors isn't a lot by any means (maybe it is idk lol) but I found it to be "cool" in a wierd way just knowing people read what I wrote.
  
  When I wrote it I didn't put a lot of effort into it but I think this may be an on-the-side hobby of mine (regardless of money). Article writing is kind of, uh how do I say it...fun? lol

  There's a "Thanks" button. But, I think you can't see it yet since you're new!
  
  I've been learning this for 2 years now. I didn't do anything then.. I just tried to learn 'new' stuff.
  
  But, WF motivates you to take action! I'm working on 2 different projects now. I've stopped reading up stuff...

  That is great! Even though it is not a lot of money, I know it makes you feel great just to know you can make money from a little work on your computer, which means you can make money whenever and wherever. Good Job!!

Good job, did they pay you for the article itself? They usually pay within 3-8 dollars per article depending on the niche and how good the content is.

  No. I selected the PPV (pay per view) where you get paid $1.50 for every 1,000 visitors. But I've read up on where you can get $3-$8 per article as you said and I've thought about it but since it was my first article I just wanted to make sure it got published because if you do PPV it usually gets accepted almost instantly.
  
  I've made over $3,000 online since August but NOT doing IM or anything that comes close to it. It's not black hat or anything, and it's well known (kind of) if you're familiar in that area. Most of all it's automated (well it can be done manually as well). Maybe I'll make a post about it sometime? Just it's really something that can't be handed to the wrong people/a lot of people because it gets saturated and taken down FAST. But 100% legal (but frowned upon, kind of like counting cards in the casino lol)
  
  Anyways, back to the AC PPV system. I really think I'm gonna try and monetize this somehow (well I've already started) and I'll let you know.
  
  I mean if you write 1,000 articles over time and each gets 500 views, thats 5,000,000 views. At $1.50 per 1,000 that would be $7,500. BUT WAIT, once you reach 1,000,000 views, your PPV goes to $2.00. So, for the first million, it would be $1,500, then the next 4 million at $2/per thousand, it would be $8,000. Seems like a long shot but it would be nice Also seems like a lot of work. Idk I just got back from the gym so I'm all pumped up rambling on lol

Hey, congrats. You may know that there is a very successful and well-known annual event called the Thirty Day Challenge. It takes place every August. They take you through setting up a test website from the beginning, through promoting it.

I bring it up because their aim is to teach you to make a buck. ONE buck. Because if you can do that, you can expand it. They don't aim for high numbers, because if you don't meet them you might just give up.

The first buck is sometimes the hardest. Best of luck on making more!

Congratulations and hope there is more to come in 2010!

I remember my very first commission check for $2.50 back in 2004. I kept it as a momento. Fortunately they have increased a bit since then.
