Hi Last year I attended a very great seminar "The Marketing Focus seminar" in the Uk, and I am attending again this year. I personally think that this is the number 1 opportunity to meet JV partners, Get a lot of fresh information and learn all the important stuff to take your business to the next level. I would like to hear if any of you go to LIVE seminars and if so, which ones do you find the best ? |

I do attend seminars. In 2006, I invested 60k to attend seminars. I didn't attend any in 2007. I've got a few I'll attend before the end of the year. I'm more focused on personal coaching. I've found that you can get the DVDs or the CDs and get the same info as at the seminars. One thing I don't care much for is the "Pitch Fest" often found at these seminars. BRING a large sum of money as they will have many things available for you and IF you can see a benefit to it....you'll want to buy it. Jay NaPier |

I was at that seminar too ![]() I go to whatever events I can fit in. I'm out in Asia right now so my traveling is limiting them, but I'm meeting up with fellow warriors and other IMers too so I don't go cold turkey |

I've gone to Big Seminar 1, 5, 8 & 11...plus Ken McArthur's JVAlert and Impact Bootcamp. Also, Ken McCarthy's "System" seminar and way back in 2000 I attended Affiliate Force in Miami where I met Declan Dunn and the late Cory Rudl. The JV partnerships and lifelong friendships that have helped ramp my biz up from 6 figures to 7 annually are all attributed to connecting at these live seminars. Of course, my favorite one of all is the one in my sig file (I'm the event planner), where no products are pitched or sold at all. Captain Lou |

I haven't gone to my first seminar yet !! But that's because there aren't any from where I'm from. I'm putting away some money to save and go to the US for a quality seminar that's worth my while. I'm looking forward to see what other seminars people have attended.

Tina.. I feel seminars are a must. You always learn something new and something you can use in your business. A big point about the learning is following through and actually implementing it. Seminars are a great way to meet future JV and business partners. I prefer the smaller events. It gives you and opportunity to meet and get to know more people. Most seminars are promotion fests... if you spend money easily, set some rules up for yourself. As in... my budget is $xxx and I will not go over it. If you see products you want and they are limited go ahead and make the purchase but cancel the order before you leave. Remember you are there for yourself. It does not matter what others think if you refund. Maybe they should have told you what would be available earlier. But yes... do attend live events. Joe |

I attended my first event in November 2005 and now every time I hear about one, I will do everything I can to get to it. I love live events. Great time, great learning experience and the people that you meet are the best people in this business. Get to event if you can. It'll change your life!!! |

Hi Again Thank you all very much for sharing your seminar habbits. I am very happy to see that so many have found the enormous potential in Live events. Its true that the some of the speakers are offering you something in the end - Always with a big tempting discount - But if these seminars should be completely without any "pitch offers" - The entry tickets would be un-affordable for most marketers. And the cool part is that these speakers knows that in order to gain your trust in them - they must tell you something interesting, and valuable... So Just listen to their great strategies and sit on your credit card :-) I 'll like to add a little advise on the "Pitch Offers" Before you buy ask your self this question: "Do I really have time to implement this product or am I just afraid of missing out" ? If you Do decide to buy something - Please check their refund policy. Often they give you a big seminar discount - BUT ( there is always a but right?) your refund period can be as short as 3 days!!!!!!! - I know this from a bitter experience. Let me just give you that story quick: I bought a rather expensive product saturday afternoon and saturday night in the bar I got into a very interesting conversation with a very successfull marketer. He ended up offering me to mentor me for FREE, in my first product creation. See now I absolutely didn't need this "great" offer I couldn't miss out on in the afternoon and I honestly wish I had taken The GREAT advise that Joe Marsh gave in his post: "If you see products you want and they are limited go ahead and make the purchase but cancel the order before you leave". I'll certainly remember this :-) But with that said - The greatest part is all the like minded people you meet - and each and every one of them could be your upcoming partner to a million dollar business - You never know :-) Cheers Tina |

The seminar I attended that was hosted by Keith Wellman and Gary Ambrose in Orlando (Gateway to Wealth) totally changed my business and I"m investing a lot of time and energy into developing all I learned. Yes, there was a lot of pitching. But...the content that is free is totally worth it. I saw Mike Filsaime speak and he was INSANE....definitely the Einstein of Internet Marketing. The man was so brilliant in how he did simple things to improve his conversion rate. With dollars per subscribers in the 10-20 dollars...doesn't take much extra conversion to make a huge amount of sales. I would recommend conferences and live events to anyone. The people you meet will be the best thing for your career. Imagine the benefits of WF with the fun of meeting new people...that's what conferences do. Plus...you'll get stuff for free from people due to them getting to know YOU and developing a true relationship. Best wishes to all and please anyone who needs help...please PM me. I'll do my best to find someone to help anyone who is willing to ask!!! Cheers, Brad Spencer |

That was the seminar organised and run by Robert Puddy wasn't it. What a great seminar that was. Busy, busy and really busy. Informative chat style presentations by some, and hard hitting presentations by others, but still, I believe a good time was had by all. ( I was there ) ![]() Don't Tina, expect this years seminar to be the same as last years, it's a whole new ball game now. Kindest regards, Janet

Just curious, did you get a return on the 60k you spent attending this seminars. Seminars are great, if you will take the information and apply it. You have the networking which allows you to get your head out of your computer screen. However we are all in business to make a profit, so if you dont do anyting with the information, you not only throwing money down the drain, but squandering your most important resource ''TIME''.

Seminars are great especially for networking. I have to admit though I am more tempted to go to seminars in a nice location that I would visit anyway. Las Vegas, Orlando, Hawaii, Cruise Ships.. etc.

It is a lot easier to succeed big by attending good seminars. So many doors open to you when you see someone eye-to-eye and like them or loath them (& not waste your time with them). I've attended JV Alert Live (Ken McArthur is great) twice, and Ross Goldberg's Masters Seminar once. I also attended IMC's London bash a couple of years ago. I'll be going to many more soon. S |

Hope they don't diddle you on sandwiches like an event in Egham I attended a while back. Captive audience so it was like £5 for a basic sarnie or £7.50 for something like salmon or beef. Sorry I know it's petty but hate being taken for a ride.

Good to see you again :-) You might be right - But I trust Pat Lowell will keep it in the same "spirit" as last year. Honestly, its not that important to me. I just look so much forward to meet up with the wonderfull partners I got last year - Thank them for all their help and have a lot of drinks and chats - Just like last year :-) And I look forward to all the new partners, I hope to meet this year. If I was looking for a seminar where you could have different speakers providing good information, and a lot of opportunity to interact with other attendees (such as round tables and workshops), what seminars would you guys recommend?

Hi Tina Well I am hooked on LIVE EVENTS!! First was this year at Ken McArthur's JV Alert Live, Philadelphia, actually had a coveted Hot Seat, then on to Ross Golberg's Master's Seminar in Chicago, followed by Gateway to Wealth in Orlando put on by Keith Wellman and Gary Ambrose I am off to the World Internet Summit in Toronto, November 6-9, 2008 and actually am looking for someone to share the hotel expenses. You can read my Oct 22 blog post for details [see below] And then I am off to JV Alert Live in Orlando in February, 2009 I have spent $3000 on one 'pitch' which may pay for itself, but the big thing is in the face to face meeting of my peers, and chatting, dining and sharing a beverage with some of the BIG names online as well as regular folks like myself. I'll never forget going to my second [and subsequent events] and being greeted by 'notables' and others by my name - WITHOUT WEARING A NAME BADGE!! Blew me away. I feel it is imperative to get out in PUBLIC from behind the monitor. As a result of 2 seminars, I am working on a JV that will benefit me for the long term - wouldn't have been possible if I hadn't made an appearance! Great post! Cheers John |

No, I really don't attend live seminars. I host and teach many live seminars throughout the year myself, but I rarely attend any.
