Any ideas? How are most merchants doing it? Is it just a matter of making MORE SALES?

Alexa Smith has said it all, High Gravity depends on the number of affiliates promoting a product. The more affiliates you have and the more successful your affiliates are in making sales, the higher gravity your product will have.

The easiest way to get a high gravity is to open up bulk accounts with Clickbank. Then sell a couple of your products through each one. Hey presto, a high gravity, despite it only being sold by one person - you.

    A lot do it.

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

Uh oh, you just let the cat out of the bag A lot of people use this method and to be honest it actually will help you get more affiliates to sell you product because there are many clueless affiliates out there. Me personally, I don't waste my time because I actually have good products that affiliates want to promote and have no need to do any black hat magic..well at least not all the time

Forget about trying to cheat the system or artificially enhance your results. To the good affiliates on clickbank that actually want to stick with you all that matters is a high quality product, high ROI, and a solid owner who always strives for higher conversions and keeping his product up to date.

You have to start thinking in terms of what will my affiliates need and treat them like customers. Just like your customers want a great product, your affiliates want a great product to sell and the tools to sell it with. So instead of assuming they will know how to do things, build the tools for them.

Suggest keywords and ads to market with, provide banners, email ads, text ads, landing pages, and other marketing creatives. Set up an affiliate email list that you build and communicate with your affiliates. Offer sales contests and provide bonuses for affiliates who do well.

Before you release a product on Clickbank, do your own testing and make sure conversions are where they need to be. Provide examples and try to make the process of choosing the product as simple as possible for the affiliate. Describe all of these things on your affiliate page that is included on your site.

One last thing. If you have created a quality product, go through and make a list of all current owners of quality products within that niche. Contact them and ask them to do a joint venture with you. You never know, you might end up with more affiliates than you need in a very short period of time by doing this.

Then, create another product and you will already have a list of hungry affiliates ready to market for you. Good luck.

To add to all of this, I would like to recommend to you a very useful article I found on the subject of recruiting affiliates. Just type on Google "how to find and recruit super affiliates"

You´ll find the article on the first spot.

The reason merchants like to have high gravity scores, is because this is the way clickbank's marketplace ranks them in their listings. There are also a ton of Clickbank Analytic sites out there that rank them the same way. So the Clickbank products with the highest gravity scores naturally get seen by more affiliates looking for something to promote.

Like many have said here, this does not necessarily mean that these are the highest converting products. But it's always good for the merchant, because it gets more affiliate's eyes onto your product.

That is true, I stand corrected. However many of the analytic websites out there rank them via their gravity score. - And actually popularity on clickbank is basically the amount of money made multiplied by the gravity score. So gravity does still play a major role in getting your site seen by affiliates.

Being a newbie here, I had no idea that is how Clickbank worked. Certainly powerful information I can use going forward when looking for products to promote. Thanks much!
