3 kids in the park and a flat basketball...

Ill admit, I plan on making a lot of money through my internet businesses.

Just like many others here on WF, I have vision, Im motivated, I have goals, and I have no doubts at all that I will succeed. Im a very driven and motivated person. Im extremely focused and disciplined, I spend the majority of my time thinking about how I can further develop my business and make more money.

I guess I spend a lot of time thinking about money. Then afterwards I think some more about money, then money again.

Why? Because I want all those nice things in life that Ive never had. A nice house, nice furniture, a flash car, being able to travel....but most importantly of all...more importantly than anything else in my life....

I WANT TO HAVE THE ABILITY TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE.

Yesterday there were 3 young african kids playing in the park across the road from my house. I could see from my front door that these kids were playing basketball with a flat ball. I watched for about 2 minutes then decided to take my sports pump over and put some air in their ball. They were delighted and full of smiles. They thanked me and I returned home.

15 minutes later they knocked on my door and explained how the ball was flat again. They asked if I could put some tape over the valve as it was leaking air. I apologised and said I couldnt help out, that the tape would just fall off and the ball would go flat again. I didnt have another ball in the house that I could lend them either.

Now heres these three young brothers, originally from Africa, who had moved to Australia with their parents, who could have been out doing anything - vandalising, stealing, or causing trouble - but these were good kids - just shooting hoops in the park.

They eventually left and I returned to my office and sat there for a moment and thought - Im going to go buy those kids a damn ball. So 20 minutes later I returned home from the shops with 3 new basketballs, one each - A total cost of $17.

The kids were absolutely wrapped - all for just $17.

They've been playing in the park for the last two days with those balls, having a great time, shouting out hello and waving to me out front.

You know It really made me think about why I do what I do.

Its not really about the money, its about helping people and making a difference. Even if it was only $17, I know that later on as my business grows and my profits increase, Ill be able to help those closest to me without financial constraints and having to worry about costs.

Thanks for reading - Happy new year

That's a fantastic story, thank you so much for sharing it and good on you for doing such a kind thing I completely hear what you're saying about helping people too, I think us IM's are in a very nice position to be able to do so - whether it's helping someone lose weight, make money, beat an addiction, meet someone special or the thousands of other niches out there. Yes, making money is nice, but the realization that we are helping people move forward in their lives is just as good, if not better

      Happy new year everyone!
