Videos on your sales letter page

Hi there and happy new year!

I will be doing some video marketing and wonder what the benefits are of having a video on your sales page. Would it distract people away from your sales letter copy or would this matter. I see quite a few sites with videos on now and just wonder ultimately what the main purpose/benefit is?

Thanks if you can help.

      Hello

I believe video converts well on any type of page.

Whether it be a squeeze page or an affiliate page.

I know its always attracted my attention.

I use video and they work great

Like all things online, it depends. What works for joe down the street might not work at all for you and me.

Have a hot bikini model demoing a book on the new tax codes and I'll be glued to my monitor for the length of the video wanting to buy anything she's selling as long as I get more bikini videos with the purchase. But, give me a video sales pitch on the hottest product by someone that is physically a turn off or cannot present articulate sentences or for whatever reason distracts me away from the buying process and I'm outa there.

As with all things, it's not as much about the media, but the message.

The main purpose of any direct response video on a sales site should be to increase response and conversion.

If it does not then don't do it.

The concept is so simple it can be figured out by doing an A/B split test just like any other copy or website element.

In fact answering this question is "so easy a cave man can do it:"

If video make more money then video good.

If video not make more money then video not good.

If not using video make more money then no use video.

Bad video no good for money get made good video instead.

You need to split test video on your sales letters and websites, but most of the time, video will drastically increase your conversion rate. I did a split test on one of my sites once to test whether video increases your conversion rate. I tested having a video on a page vs. having a video autoplay on the page. The autoplay drastically beat the non-playing video.

Conclusion? Video helps you sell your product!

      Hope this helps.
