There are some things in marketing that just irritate the snot out of me. Like badly produced video sales letters with fast forward disabled. These kind of time wasters really bug me.

My thinking is if it is so important for me to know something about the product you want to be selling, you could write a bit about it so I can read what you have to say without me watching you fumble around with your video making program.

I value my time, its my most precious business asset.

I was wondering if things like this irritate anyone else.

      That irritates me too..

Especially when, after 10 minutes (if you make it that long), you're still listening to the person talk about their house, their car, what they can now afford...

I also hate when people give almost nothing useful away in the pre-launch for their products. It's called a pre-launch for a reason.

      Just look at Micro Continuity...

Example: Nick Breen (from these boards) used the free video from the pre-launch alone to make bank, so do you think he bought it when it came out? You know it.

Yes i would have to agree somewhat.

Some videos can work very well and teach things that you cant read about.

What really peeves me i would say is the annoying exit splash pages some sites have.

I have them myself but what gets on my nerves is the ones you see that have 3 or 4 exit pages.

You click to close the page then you get another one and another and another.

I was just looking at some of those kind of exit pages today. its not that they can't capture some traffic that might otherwise go away without buying or opting in, its that these things are everywhere.

Personally, I like to think I can make up my own mind. If I want to leave a page, then it would be OK for me to do that without having to make another decision.

If I knew this ahead of time, then I could make a decision to not waste the person's bandwidth by staying on the page. Truth is, there are few products so unique that I need to suffer through pages of junk to buy them.

When asking people if they want to buy something and they say "No" as marketers, we can just say "Next". But out potential customers can also say "next" as well, and the internet makes it so easy to find the next seller of the product and buy from them, especially if they make it easy to do so.

When you just know that marketers aren't practicing what they're preaching.

E.g - marketer claims to be a super niche affiliate, but spends most of his time selling ebooks to the IM crowd.
I don't read many such sales letters anymore, but when I do, it makes me giggle.
