Hi - I am wondering if anyone has done any proper research into the best days to send out emails?

I certainly see a better performing spike over emails sent out midweek. By better performing I am talking about sales.

Does anyone have any different data that they can share

I've found Tues/Weds are best for both clicks and sales. When I send I want the email to be IN their email box early Tues morning or on Wednesday. I've found 9am, 3pm, and 6pm are when the emails tend to get read which seems like when they take a break at work or soon after they get home.

From Tuesday to Thursday. Avoid Weekends and Mondays. Reason: People try to avoid checking their email from Friday to Sunday. On Mondays, they have a lot of new mail in their inbox, so they tend to delete whats less interesting/urgent. So, from Tuesday to Thursday, you´ll have greater attention.

As for the OP, use forum's "Search" function. You'll find a lot of threads exactly on this topic.

In my opinion, if the title is good enough, it doesn't really matter when you send it, if your subscriber sees it, they will most likely open it.

At the top of the page there is a red menu: User CP | Blogs | ... | SEARCH | ...

          Wrong assumption!

Because the topic was discussed again and again, by searching the archive you'll find way more answers than you'll get in this thread

Thank you for your valuable input. Actually, I have been here a long time and know how the forum works!

Can you guess what I did?

Yep, I actually searched several keywords again and again. I guess I was fed up of wasting my time (having to wait 20 secs between searches) searching perfectly good keywords as well as variations of them.

Guess what they turned up? Absoltely Zilch . . . hence the question in here.

For me, my biggest sales days ever have been Saturday and Sunday...although I don't really think in terms of "best day" b/c I mail almost every day (never know when people are opening them)

    Cheers,

    Brad

  • I think it's niche specific.

For instance, do you have a computer literate niche? In which case, will they open the e-mail at work? In which case, a weekday may be far better than a weekend.

      Couple of thoughts...

      > I think it depends somewhat on the market and what you want them to do. If you want them to attend an event on Monday, contacting them on Tuesday may not work so well. Same with contacting them the day after a sale ends, just because it's the "right" day. If the offer isn't time bound or urgent, then trying to find what day responds best is worth looking for.

      > Another viewpoint I read, but haven't tested for myself, is that you want to email people on the same day they confirm or opt in, because you can be reasonably sure they deal with email on that day.

Either way, the best you can expect out of polling a bunch of marketers on a forum is a starting point for your own testing. In an autoresponder series, if you send every four days, you will hit every day of the week. Monitor the response and see for yourself what's best for your list.

There is no special day that will give you better results than other days...

    For me,

The best results are just 3 days after an email that's sent in a friendly reach (like a giveaway, download,...etc.)

It all depends on building the open rate from your list...if more than 50% open and read your emails...then you're on your way.
