How would I set up a price for the product on paypal, and have the customer be able to download the product after payment? or is this even possible?

The easiest way, I think, is just to go through E-Junkie. They are very cheap, they take care of secure product deliver for you, and the funds go straight through to paypal.

just what i was looking for.

i'll look at it more tomorrow in depth but what i saw was pretty impressive.

the prices aren't too bad, either. seems like it would be invaluable as a service.

I use a product called SmartDD ......excellent product. You can even change the price and the download link changes automatically. Google it .....you'll see what I mean.

If you create a "buy now" button there is a section where you type in the URL you want someone sent to when the transaction is successful, and one where you send them if it isn't successful.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

This is easy. Click Merchant Services. Under 'Create a Button' click on Buy Now.

You'll get to a page where you fill in a few easy questions. At the bottom of the page you'll see a link that says 'step three' customize advance features (optional).

Click on that. There are a few more easy questions to answer and a field below that says:

Take customer to a specific page (URL) after successful checkout:

Put your download link in this field and then click on 'Create Button' in the lower left. That's it. Good Luck!

Also if u r using aweber, u can integrate paypal and aweber using the email parser option so that your new buyer gets an automated email from u which can be your thank u email containg the download links (although as I have tested this, the buyer has to confrim his optin when he gets this email from you...but you can word it like 'thanks for your purchase. Top confirm the purchase, click below...').

This way not only are u diorecting them using paypal to your thank u page but also having a system in place that will trigger an automated email to your buyer after purchase.

I had meddled with few scripts to get this flowing but because I had a OTO page in my sales funnel, I couldn't quiet get the scripts working to allow for OTO page in the picture. But upon enquiring with aweber as to getting automated emails sent to buyers after purchase, they end me link that showed me step by sytyep way how to get this going via the aweber email parser option.

I have tested this and it works according to my plan. I suggest if u r using aweber, maybe u should try this method.

Why do I have the feeling you didn't even go to the PayPal site and read anything about this yet? It's incredibly easy to do. PayPal basically GIVES you the code if you enter in the details when creating your "buy now" button.

Or ... get a real solution like DLGuard and setup is a breeze.

As others have said, you can set this up in PayPal in the 'merchant tools' area.

just be careful of using this because it does leave it open for your product to be downloaded if you don't have it in a secure area. This is not because it's via PayPal, but simply because it's not being done with some sort of software to protect unauthorised downloads.

Something like DLGuard will do the job.

Forgot to mention that this method is no good if you want to have affiliates, as PayPal doesn't cater for affiliates through the normal 'buy now' buttons.

You would have to set up your own affliate program using Clickbank or an program.

PayPal buy now buttons are only good for direct sales.

I just signed up with e-junkie this week. It's super easy to accomplish this!

Or, as others have said, directly through paypal.
