Someone help me install wordpress on an addon domain

I have been trying to install wordpress to an addon domain for like an hour. If I do manual install, for some reason there is an error having to do with the database name whatever. I have created a whole new database name and re-tried the install to no avail. I have tried doing the fantastico install and I get this error:
Install WordPress (2/3)

The installation can not be completed:

- You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.

Click on the browser's Back button to fix reported errors.

Also when I check the directory of the domain via ftp there is absolutely nothing but the CGI Bin there So there isn't any script in the root directory of that domain. I'm very aggrivated.

Getting very frustrated. Can someone help me get this damn thing installed?

Can you provide me access to your cPanel? I will go in and do it for you.

I feel for you . . . this probably will not help you, but may help to describe whats going on with your install.

Paths can cause a problem when installing some scripts onto an addon domain.

If you look at an add on domain with your ftp program, the domain is usually in a folder off your main domain root.

So, for your first domain, your path to your root may look something like /home/yourlogon/public_html

But for an addon domain, it may look something like:
    /home/yourlogon/public_html/yournewdomain

Its quite possible that the 'auto' install cannot find your new installation because it can't see your addon domain.

Its *much* easier if you had a reseller hosting account.

    Sorry I couldn't help further

You need to go to the domain where the blog is going to be installed, not in the sub domain of the main site. Then you select a name for the folder where you want the blog to be installed. It needs to be a new folder, not an existing folder unless you are installing in the root directory.

report this to your webhost, they will fix the problem. I have issues like this before, I can't install wp in the root directory even though I have already removed my first installed wp in that directory.

Try this: go to file manager > .fantasticodata > click on installed_in_root.php then click edit button.

    Delete the following: = 1;$installed_in_root["yourdomain.com"] = 1;

    Then reinstall wp!

It was what JBorhez said. I fixed it earlier for him, but forgot to post the results here.

    All good now.
