I was wondering how many of you are using Google Adsense.
And what are good alternatives when I want to stay away from Adsense?

Putting up clickbank products is my alternative to Google Adsense. When I started last year, I was focused on Adsense but Clickbank is more profitable if you have a targeted traffic.

Good idea Mers...

I often prefer to serve my own ads instead of others...

BUT..

to the OP....

Take a look at Bidvertizer... they have a similar ad serving blocks program

I was using Tribal Fusion with alot of success. The eCPM seemed about double that of adsense in my testing.

You do need to meet some traffic criteria however to join.

  Well more then 80 % of internet marketers are using Google Adsense. You can't make millions of it unless you have a "million Dollor Plan" like planty o fish or " DiGG" or have thousands of hits per day. but you can get decent amount ... almost every other guys is making around $ 10 / day ...and if you give sufficient time to it and work hard you can easily manage to make couple of thousand after teh initial strugle.
  
  now as far as alternatives are concerned, adbrite, text link ads, kontera are a few other pay per click programs available in market , however they are not as much preffered as google.

  This is actually a contextual link program. It takes keywords in your content and makes them ad links. Its not a banner type program.
  
  This means (if you meet tos) that you can run it easily with another program.

  I came across with this CDPRO Ads 2 days back. Can you tell me more about this. I signed up for a free account but i am still doing a research about this. My adsense were disabled because my friends were kind enough to click on the ads.

After a little "misunderstanding" with the folks at Google*, I turned to Yahoo Publisher Network. Lower click-through for some reason, but per-click seems much higher. Either way, I make enough to cover my expenses plus a little left over with zero work.

* I got on the wrong side of someone who was scraping my articles, and they click-frauded me right out of the Adsense program. Even though I did nothing wrong, Google still called me a risk to their advertisers and kicked me out.
