Opportunities in banking niche?

With all the recent public uproar with big banks, I was wondering if there might be something marketers could do to benefit. For example, maybe more people will start searching for smaller banks or credit unions to deposit their money. Or maybe smaller banks and credit unions might see this as an opportunity to run some programs to pay for referrals. What do you think?

    They all feed the same system, the Federal Reserve. People bank locally because it's convenient.

    People want to put their money in places that have brands associated with them, and people they can talk to.

    Things like Credit Cards, Loans, Mortgages are very viable online to sell the leads. But the bank itself? Maybe you'll come up with a great idea to cash in.

    Think about it from the customer perspective. What's in it for them?
