Wanted to share some news to you guys to help you get inspired for the new year! We all like to hear stories of how people had their first breakthrough after struggling for months on end... Well here is another one... Had a friend I met on Facebook a while back, he was telling me all the troubles he had making money online. He had tried just about everything under the sun, even business opportunities that had $20k price points. I gave him a really simple stratagy that he could follow immeidiatly: I told him to go buy Dan Kennedy Ultimate Sales Letter Book & The Copy Writers Handbook By David Bly. Then I told him to go read everything he could for week on article marketing. After that I told him to get 3 different accounts at certain article submission sites...Ezine being one of them of course and Sooper Articles & one of his choice... Then I told him to go pick a clickbank product with high gravity that interested him and had pain involved in them... Had to be in the money, health or relationship niches because of the need for them online... After that I had him place a mini-capture page that he would send visitors to and collect their info offering a free private label resell product as a "bribe" to get people's info. He then would send them to the affiliate product when people put their info in... His work habit was 5 to 10 articles 6 days a week...nothing fancy. Within one month he had $400 made, the second month he had $1900 made... I told him to add a blog to the same niche and webpage and he added all his articles to it and included some video slideshows... The following month he had $3200 made.. He's now so hopeful for 2010... and this is the month he walks away from his 9 to 5 forever!! I don't know about you but I love hearing how someone overcame even though it was nothing special, just good old fashion consistent work... |

That's a great success story ! It reminds me a lot of my recent situation. I started working hard on my site in july 2009 and in November 2009 I finally made my first Few dollars off of adsense . It felt great and my adsense has been growing very fast since then ! Goes to show that hard work and sticking with it eventually pays off ! That sounds like a good business model. Isn't that called BUM Marketing or is it a bit different?

Thanks for the share Dwayne! Many of us including myself did not experience the real rewards until we became numb to the overnight riches stuff and just started building long term marketing strategies. |

He said to choose a clickbank product with a high gravity. Clickbank gives each of their products a gravity rating. The higher the gravity value, the hotter the product is at the moment. It can also mean there is a lot of competition promoting the product though. Choosing a product that has pain involved......people don't like pain and are always looking for a solution to get rid of it. Lonely....looking for a relationship, debt....looking for ways to make money etc. Hope this helps |

Be very careful with that thinking on some products. Everything is not always as it seems, especially at ClickBank.

I want a good keyword researcher, not for min sites but for tech articles. Hit me up if you've got those skillz!

| When a clickbank product is high gravity, one of two things are happening. As the person above said it could be a hot product, OR it could be a product that is being marketed well (even if it was a crap product).

I agree you do have to be carefull, you should pick wrong products. In fact I usually only hit 2 of 10. So 8 are usually failures for me but the 2 that make it usually make it enough to cover my failures and a much much more... This is exactly what I told him to do... And boom success, but all you see is the breakthrough not the frustration he had failing. In fact over 80% of the money he makes comes from only 2 products... |

I usually try to go for niches that give the person urgency to buy. A real serious problem they are trying to get rid of. For example one of my products that does really good is in the health niche, and its a micro niche where people would give there life savings away to find some relief from it. |

It's a very important and vastly underrated skill for affiliates to acquire! I have a 10-point checklist, for product selection, myself, and here it is. Developing it and putting it into practice absolutely transformed my ability to make money as a Clickbank affiliate. ![]() Several of the comments above (in this thread, not the one linked to) about "gravity" are deeply mistaken. Gravity actually doesn't measure either sales numbers or conversion rates, and contrary to what many people imagine a high gravity-figure isn't actually evidence that a product is selling well at all. There's more discussion of that point and a simple description of "gravity" in this post. No, I'm afraid not. There are also other possibilities. It can easily be a crap product and being marketed badly too, and have a dreadful conversion-rate and still have a very high gravity.

I agree, but personally when you land on a product page, If you have done your homework as a marketer and have many years under your belt writing copy. You know when you see a product that will convert.... There are certain signals that I look for, like the pain I described above... |

Thanks for sharing your strategy that you gave your buddy. It just goes to show that a simple plan carried through can really pan out. One of the best tips I've seen about Clickbank is to not worry about gravity, and instead, match products to the desires of people you've dug up when doing research. See what they're talking about, what they're complaining about, what they're trying to figure out, etc and then present them with the product that best matches their needs. |

Nice. Thanks for the post. Consistent action is where it's at. I think a lot of us forget that we can't just go real hard at something for a couple days and as soon as it's not profitable we just stop. We need to try to stick it through until the end by giving everything a fair chance before we give up and move on to something else. |

Hard work pays off. People look for instant success. You really need to work to get somewhere in this business. It only becomes easier after you have at least 3 years of experience.

I couldn't agree more, its not lack of knowledge that holds people back, its finding one thing thats proven to work and sticking to it until you are literally blue in the face...

He wrote how to articles, I have found these to be the easiest and most effective. I also showed him some templates on how to write a pain, problem and solution article... A little more advanced but higher conversion on the buying side.
