How many subscribers did it take to make your first sale, and afterword did you begin to see success after that first sale.

For me i started building a list and had my relationship/trust building a/r copy preloaded and ready to go, offered something as a tool they will need to succeed, and they buy ... it can happen relatively quickly and doesnt depend on x number of subs ...

I made my first sale after less than 10 subscribers (which got my hopes up). It was great because not only was it a $50 per month payment, it was a continuity program.

My second sale came in the 30s.... and was a mere $7

Something I often bear in mind is that lots of sales pages convert at 2% or thereabouts. Whilst email traffic should convert higher (if you've presold it) if we stay on the conservative side of things that works out at one sale for every 50 visitors you send.

Staying conservative, if you have a 10% open rate then you need a list of 500 to get a single sale from one mailing. My average CTR for December was 26% but I prefer to work on safer assumptions : )

It is a matter of trust and what you are offering. It is not about the number on your list but the fact that they trust you and will buy product from you - if they feel you are providing value. It is quality not quantity.
